Hi.
I just booked a Southwest flight for my dd's friend after our NYE cruise on RCCL for January 2.
The friend will be flying from FLL to BWI. I purchased the ticket but didn't see where I could select
a seat. Does this mean it is a free for all? I actually don't mind where they sit but I am just hoping
since I purchased the seat, it means there is a seat for her friend. Is that correct?

The fare I purchased was the Anytime flight.

We live in NY and I have never flown SW so never follow the threads about them. Thank you very much.

Southwest does not do assigned seating. Instead, when you friend checks in online she will be given a boarding position. A group is the first 60 people, B is the second 60 people, and C is the rest. The plane is boarded with medical pre-boards first, then group A, then SOMETIMES a family boarding group for children under the age of 4. Then group B and then group C. Once a passenger enters the plane, he or she may choose any open seat.
