I received a Southwest sale e-mail this morning that was valid for early December travel. When I first booked my flights ($79 each way), I mistakenly booked round trip. Originally, we had a 1:15pm flight back but when I checked the sale I couldn't get the $59 sale price :sad2: I looked into flying out the next day but an extra night (at a value) and extra food would negate our savings. Plus the whole hassle of moving to a new resort for just one night. So, I decided for the $200 savings we would just take the 9:30am flight. I decided to book one ways this time to have maximum flexibility if better prices were released. So I cancelled our first ressie and booked our PIT to MCO leg. Great - $59 each way - DONE! Then I went to book our MCO to PIT leg and lo and behold our our original 1:15pm time slot opened up at the $59 price :cool1:

I can't believe how much I  Southwest (even though I am a Gold Prefered US Airways member  )

Here were the other sale rates listed for Orlando (MCO) - good for travel through December 10th

$89 one-way, to/from Albuquerque, NM
$89 one-way, to/from Austin, TX
$49 one-way, to/from Birmingham, AL
$59 one-way, to/from Buffalo/Niagara Falls, NY
$44 one-way, to/from Ft. Myers, FL
$69 one-way, to/from Indianapolis, IN
$59 one-way, to/from Manchester, NH
$59 one-way, to/from Philadelphia, PA
$59 one-way, to/from Pittsburgh, PA

Oh I am so glad I saw this posting...I just re-booked my flight and now I have a $60.00 credit towards next year's trip.
I booked from PHL to MCO for 11/30 and then return on 12/5, the cost was $99.00 going down and then $79.00 coming back. Today it was $59.00 each way...Thank you!

I'm glad I could help out a few fellow DISers!

I hope more can take advantage of the great fares :thumbsup2

Yeah......just got mine too for mid October........I now have a $416.00 credit in Ticketless Funds for our January trip (six of us) plus I have $274.00 in paper vouchers that I need to send to SW after the October trip is completed for a credit to my cc.........can't beat it......our January trip is going to cost us a grand total of of about $132.00 (that's if I can get $59 fares again)!!!!!!!
I LOVE SOUTHWEST..........and the great thing about it.......IMO they really do have the best run airline in operation......and the lowest fares........go figure!!!!

Booked at $788.40 (family of 4), and just re-booked at $548.40!

I happened to check the website to see if the fare went down. Yay! $60 more dollars saved! Our flights have went down $55 a person since I first booked. I love Southwest too. Also for the fact that it is the only non-stop carrier here too!
:dance3:

I'm with you!!! I am just loving SW now! I never wanted to fly SW before...the whole boarding procedure scared me. Now I understand the boarding procedure better and know to check in online for best chances at an A pass, and for these prices, I can deal with that!!

We originally booked our August trip in April for $261 pp rt. After many changes from sales and Dings, I am now down to $105 pp rt

The lowest fare I ever got before was $110 rt back in 2002 on American. I am just beside myself happy with my prices so far!!

Checked my flights (return only with SW) and now $59, down from $99. YEAH
Now I have a credit for $160....guess I will have take another trip so I don't lose the credit!!!!!!! Life is tough!

Just got off the phone with SW cust. relations refund dept. They credited my cc the difference of fares ($240). Just not sure we'll be flying anytime soon, and would just rather have the money back...
Was told that that the refund was possible because my flight dates and times remained the same after rebooking.

which number did you call? My flights times/dates didn't change either. Maybe I can get the refund instead of credit too!

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: I check SW at least 2 times daily and POOF I was thrilled this am to notice like the rest of you mentioned $59 from Buffalo. :cheer2: I just saved us $140 for the four of us that I can apply to return flight.

I will just keep checking and if it ever drops below this I will change it again (so easy on the web site even). Since I don't return till December 11 and that is day after what is released now I can use every little bit of help I can get.

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Today's e-mail rate $59 Manchester to Orlando.

Today's DING rate for the same flight $44-$49!

Sometimes you get a better rate using the DING rate!!

Hi,
The number is (214) 792-4223. It's a toll call (to Texas, I believe), and they open at 10am, est.

Good Luck!

I also just booked 6 r/t for the $59 each way price. now I hope the DING comes up with a $39 :lmao:

I, too, got an awesome refund this morning! Thanks to the OP!

Mark P., did you have refundable tickets? After you posted your message, I tried calling SW twice to get my cc credited, but it was a no go. Since they are "non-refundable," the best I could do was a 6-month extension from the expiration date. I can probably use the ticketless funds before the expire, but the cash would be nice now since we'll be in WDW in 88 days. Any tips on how to get that refund now?

Hi,
Southwest refund is the topic of many posts here on the Trans. Board!
I didn't have refundable tix.
As far as refunds go, I think it depends on who takes the call. It's not a guaranteed thing, as we all know.
I call SW not expecting a refund, but have always had good luck in getting one.
As I mentioned in another reply, it helped in my not changing any flights and/or times.

Southwest does have the best hold music, imho.
Rolling Stones hold music!:rolleyes1
Maybe it's my friendly comment on that is what works, lol

Good Luck!

A friend told me yesterday that she got the credit applied to her credit card after she returned from her trip. Apparently they will credit your credit card account after you have completed your flights! I kind of like having the credit with Southwest to use on my next flight. if it's in there I'll just have to take another WDW trip!!! :cool1:
