Southwest Rapid Rewards - Rental Cars

Do I need to book my car reservation through Southwest.com to get a rapid reward for a rental car?

I just tried to do it on Southwest and I put in all my codes but the price was really high compared to what I got when I just went through Alamo.com

Just book your car through Alamo & give them your RR card when you pick up the vehicle. I do it that way each time!

I don't have an actual card though. I just have the number is that all I need?

Also can a minor provide their Rapid Reward Number at the rental place?

My DD (4 yr) just recently joined Rapid Reward program so she got 2 credits, plus she just took a flight to Chicago so she has 4 credits already and a trip booked in May RT. She has the best chance of getting a free ticket in my family currently and since she travels more than I do lately, I'd like her to get the ticket.

I don't think a minor can get RR credits for a rental car......I believe only the adult whose name is on the rental agreement.
