We are flying out of PHL on Wens does anyone know the suggested amount of time you allow? I was thinking three hours prior is this to early or correct? Anyone have any ideas?

Most airports recommend getting there two hours prior to flight departure time, to allow time to check bags, and go through security.

Check in online 24 hours before your flight to get an A boarding pass and I recommend 2 hours but usually 1.5 hours is enough.

how large is your airport??? i fly out of chicago's smaller airport and it can take a verrrrry long time getting thru security especially mornings as people are flying out for business in the A.M.

i would go with 2 hours also .. you can always have a drink/snack if you have extra time.

My personal opinion is that its better to be early, and not have the stress of rushing, than to run late, and stress about missing a flight.

Security lines can be lonnngg at PHL, especially in the morning. I would allow 2 hours to be safe.

I agree with the poster who said the security lines are often long at PHL. They often can be. And checking in on-line is really a smart thing to do if you can - it can save you lots of time.

We usually fly out of PHL early on a Sat. morning (one of first flights of day) and we have never had a line at security (6 trips, all post 9/11). Our last trip we flew out of PHL on a Friday, hit security around noon and were through in under 5 minutes. So, we have never experienced any security lines at PHL, but we usually fly on a Saturday, early, and on non-holiday times. I would think 2 hours is plenty of time.

We fly out of PHL at least 3 times a year and we have never gotten there more than 90min early. The security lines have never been long for us. We usually fly first thing in the morning on Sun, but even when we fly Thanksgiving weekend, we have never waited more than 15 min. in line.

Two hours sounds good to me! And I did check in online! I got my A Boarding passes! I'm so excited!!!!! Can't wait!
Thanks all for you're advice!
