I just checked our flight cost and it dropped considerably... is there a way to get the difference back? How do I do that?

Yes. On SW homepage click on the change flight link on the right side. Select the same flight again. It will give you a credit for the amount of the difference unless you booked a business or anytime fare then you will get $ back.

It is easy to do...just go into the Southwest web site and select the option which allows you to change or cancel your reservation.

You will get a credit which needs to be used with 1 year of the booking of the original flight. For example, if you booked your flight July 1st 2011, you must schedule a flight on or before July 1st 2012.

The credit also must be used by the passengers named on the original ticket(s).

Congrats!
The same thing happened to us for our December flights...and the difference more than covered our "Secret MNSSHP" trip next week! :thumbsup2

I was able to do this three times on our flight that was booked in early September. It amounted to a $258 credit on our flight.

I was wondering about the post that mentioned that the credit must be used by the passenger named on the original ticket......2 yrs ago we used the credit for someone else's ticket. Has something changed?

Yes. Southwest changed it's policy. Credits can only be used for the original passenger.

I'm planning on using SW in 2013 and have another question about this procedure. What if you have bought R/T tickets with EBCI, how do you handle that if you cancel your flight and rebook do they autonmatically rebook your EBCI as well? :confused3

I was planning on buying my tickets when they first become available and watch for any changes, how late can I buy the EBCI to have it be effective. Since we're traveling during the summer I know that its going to be very competitive (going end of July beginning of Aug). Hope this makes sense and doesn't sound too stupid.:rolleyes1 Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.;)

I did it this morning and it looks like the Early Bird transferred with it.

if not mistaken, it only transfers if you do a air reservation change, not a total cancellation ( with which you would lose your early bird booking )

Please forgive my ignorance, but I've never dealt with SW before. :blush:I'm a little confused by this statement, air reservation change and cancellation are different how? So if I paid for the EBCI and changed the flight to another because its cheaper (same flight) that would be considered "cancellation" I would lose the EBCI booking? Do we have to pay again and get reimbursed for the first tickets? I'm really confused now. :confused3
