Southwest price drop today.

I have been peeking on Southwest for flights fully intending to drive due to the costs. They just posted $79 fares for my travel dates in November. Just thought I would share. They are out of Philly. Now I can justify the flying cost since it is closer to the price of gas. It dropped from a total of $1297 last month to our total cost of $587 at todays prices. Gas would have ran us $500.

I've got a couple of free flights on SW that I want to use for the podcast cruise in May '09 -- waiting for the schedule to open for those dates is just killin' me!

We were also in the same boat. We considered driving but with the flights from SW so cheap out of Philly we reconsidered. Then we extended dates because it was cheaper to return on a weekday.

if I already have SW flight booked for December - and the fare drops - will they give me the lower fare if I ask ?

Just go on-line and re-book the same flight for the new price. You use the confirmation code you were given. You will get a credit towards future airfare for the difference and I believe you have 1 year to use it from the date of original purchase. Some people sell theirs on e-bay of they can't use it in time.

Thanks for the SW rebooking information. I'll keep checking for those lower air fares - becasue it doesn't look like we are going to get a special rate on our resort.

I noticed this too. The other day my flight was costing $119 for the trip to MCO & $109 back home to CMH. Yesterday I checked & its back down to $109 & now I just am awaiting the end of the week for that special $82 ding that i've been searching for. Crossing my fingers for the cheapest option & for the time that Disney partners up with SW for Resort Check-In.
