Southwest or AA?

Need to book my tickets, and it's the same price through Southwest and AA. Who do I fly? Any Disney advantages from one to the other?

With AA you can participate in Resort Airline Check-in. This allows you to check your bags at your resort instead of having to do it at the airport. Also, you will get to pick your seats in advance, and no need to check-in RIGHT at the 24 hour mark to get a boarding pass, or wait in line to board.

Thanks...any more thoughts are appreciated. If I book AA, I'll be going through Priceline (not the name-your-own-price, just regular purchase). I've never done that before, can you still choose your seats on the flight, like you can when booking through aa.com?

if it were me, I would choose SW, but only for these reasons...

the ease of flying out of PVD instead of Logan
rapid reward credits...I have quite a few credits towards a free flight so I would want to keep adding to that
SW's policy of issuing credits if the price goes down

however, AA's advantages are pretty good too... the RAC would be nice and no need to check in 24 hours in advance and deal with the A, B C boarding pass issue

I guess it all depends on what matters to you most

Those are the big ones for me. OP didn't mention where you were flying out of, or I didn't notice. Sign up for SWA Dings, if you see a lower price for your flight it is fairly easy to make a change and save some $$$.

Pro's:

SW

- Pick your own seat
- Great customer service
- Refund if price goes down
- TF Green vs Logan

AA

- RAC

It would be a tough choice for me - but RAC would probably tip the scales. Just make sure you can use RAC - depending upon when your flight is, it might not work for you.

Why? Is it a lot cheaper?

I say that because the deal is that now "Priceline" is your Travel Agent. So if they change times etc you have to deal with Priceline. They still "own" the reservation. For this reason I won't use online TAs unless they are A LOT cheaper!!!

(I pick SW, but I am not a big AA fan LOL!)

Booking your ticket (on ANY airline) through priceline is a bad idea. No control over your reservation or cancellation (if you need to) and absolutely no price savings over booking directly on the airline's website. In fact, I believe there's an additional fee.

Save yourself the headache and eliminate the middle-person when booking airfare.
