Southwest open through 11/2/06

Better yet, the schedule is now open thru 11/2/07!:)

Waiting for Thanksgiving.

DisneyFalcon -- do you fly out of the Springs or Denver??

Does anyone have any experience/advice if they have found flying to Orlando is cheaper than Miami or Ft. Lauderdale? We are wondering for a different cruise minus the mouse :sad2:

Hello! Does anyone know when the rates on Southwest are usually lowest? We are cruising in Sept, and the rates for that time period are a LOT more than we paid last year. but I think that we booked a little later last year. Any advice?

We always crusie in September. Normally SWA goes "on sale" July 5th. They've done it for the last three years. I'm hoping they'll repeat it. I agree SWA is way over priced right now. I was checking flight prices, Delta has them beat. I'm holding out, for now.

Book now and if they go cheaper you can call and get a one year credit on the difference!!!.:thumbsup2
We did this last year and booked for $69. each way then caught a $49. special and got $20. each ticket credit. Just used it to book a trip and got my $84. off!!!!:cool1:

Aaargh! :headache:: The November 2, 2007 cutoff date is a real frustration to me!

I am sailing on the Nov 3, 2007 cruise for 7 days. Since I plan to fly out on Nov 2 and back on Nov 10, I have to wait until the next Southwest reservation cycle to book tickets!

Can we say: "So close and yet so far?" :furious:

why not book now, just one way? then when the return dates are listed, book again, one way.....

I've been checking the site at least 2x a week .... FINALLY.

Rates do seem a little higher .... I don't want to wait too long b/c we are specific on the time we want to go.

Good suggestion about getting a credit... can it be used only by that passenger??? or can we combine it???

We do this all the time. Book when the flights first come out to guarantee you get a flight that is desirable. Then, start checking back REGULARLY about 3 months prior. When you see a discounted rate you can easily change to it online and it will show that you have a credit. Be sure to download "DING" to your computer from their website as that will get you the best rates.

This credit can be used by ANYONE. It is good for 1 year from when you initially booked the ticket (but if you call, they will generally extend it another 6 months from if needed).

Good luck.

While I'm waiting on Thanksgiving fares, I'm excited that the fares are now released into November. Its coming closer!!!

Looks like the rest of November 2007 (until Jan 2008) will be available on June 28. At least that is what the SW website says...

Hi, can you tell me where on the SWA website it says when the Nov - Jan dates will open?

I am waiting for Thanksgiving also, so this is good to know!

Thanks.

Whoops! I meant to say the "email" from South West, not the "website".

I signed up for those mass emails updates from the company. One email said that dates from Nov 2007 to Jan 2008 would be posted on June 28. Then it said that it is subject to change. (Standard laywer CYA.)

I would quote the whole email, but I deleted it.

Sorry 'bout that. :sad1:

Yea, i'm finding Southwest to be very high right now for Oct vacation packages (last week of October flying from Houston to Orlando - Value Resort). For the same time last year i find that for 5 nights it should run about $938 for one person including flight, air fare, food and tickets, and now they are saying its its $1,308... YIKES!!!! So guess i have to play the waiting game now.

Anyone know when the prices will go down?

This is what is now posted on Southwest's website:

We are currently accepting air reservations through November 2, 2007. On June 28, we plan to open the schedule for purchase through January 16, 2008. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

Still not Feb 2008!!!
