Southwest online check-in

Do you still have to have separate confirmation numbers to do the online check-in process for Southwest?

It seems like I remember reading that they were going to change their policy on that, but I'm not sure when....

Yes, they still need to be separate.

Will they separate the tickets if you call and will they allow you to separate children's tickets so you can check them in online?

there have been various posts on the boards that say there is no problem calling SWA to separate into single confirmations for each one in your group


but, sorry to say hulabird if you have special fares ( eg youth fares ) you probably will not be able to check in on line for those fares

from the SWA website ...

To use Online Checkin @ southwest.com and print your Boarding Pass, you must:

Check in beginning at 12:01 AM local time day of departure, up to one hour prior to departure

Have a single-passenger, Ticketless reservation

Be checking in for flights that have not already departed

Have purchased an Adult fare type (Customers holding reservations for group, senior, infant, youth, or military fares, and those requiring an additional seat must proceed to the airport for checkin)

if the kids tickets are actually adult fares purchased onsale, then you should not have a problem

All of our tickets were the same exact price, it was a sale. But now I wonder of I even have to do it at all. We always go to the airport more than 2 hours before flight time, and we usually preboard because of one of the kids is 4. Maybe I am worrying about this for nothing. We have to check our bags anyway, so I may as well just go to the counter.
