Quick question--When I check in at the 24 hour mark for my flight there is one confirmation number but 4 of us flying on it -- will I have to do this 4 different times? I have small children and want seats together. Thanks.

No - you check in by confirmation number.

As long as there is one confirmation number, you can check all of you in at the same time. You mentioned you had small children. If you have children under 4 you can use family board between groups A and B. I have never been split up form my family - even when getting C boarding passes.
