So here's a question...

If I print my boarding pass at home, can I use the Southwest Kiosks to print luggage tags for my bags? Or do I need to stand in line at the Skycap or check in desk?

Hi Chip 'n Dale!

Not sure about Orlando, but in other airports (MHT & BWI) there has been a "baggage only" line for people who have already their boarding passes - usually at one end of the check-in counter. You put your luggage on the scale and pull up your reservation via the terminal (similar to the kiosk screens) to print your luggage tags. A SWA employee has to put the tags on your luggage and you're good to go. It has been a very quick process when I've used it.

Depends on the airport. I don't think the luggage kiosk are in many airports yet. If you post the question over in flyertalk someone may be able to give you updated information.

Right now getting a BP early just gives you an "A" but you still have to checkin with a skycap or at the desk.

Every airport I have been that I have used SWA, I still had to give my luggage to a sky cap or take it to the counter to have a tag made. I have used MCO, DTW, BNA, LAX, MDW.

I know at PVD the kiosks are only for people who have no baggage to check - whether you checked in online or not.

Tyler I looked up the answer as a small way of paying you back for all the help you've given us.

The airports that have kiosks at the ticket counter can be used to print your luggage tag.

MCO is NOT one of those airports. The advantage to checking in online is getting an "A" BP. You still have to check your luggage with the sky cap or at the counter. Frequently the ticket counter line moves faster than the sky cap line.

Thanks everyone for your help. I usually fly to MHT, and they have the kiosks there... but I never encounter a line there. It was MCO that I was really curious about, since the last flight I had there, there was a huge line for the desk and the sky cap. Granted, the desk line moved SUPER FAST... but still :)
