Southwest just extended booking to Sept 13

I've been waiting for Southwest to extend as I'm going the end of August. Came home to the email and booked fast. Some of the cheaper flights are going fast. I booked the 4 of us nonstop out of Providence for $79 each way plus their fees and taxes. It came to $700 total. Still higher than I've paid other years, but not bad. Got the times I wanted too. So if you were waiting, book now!

Us air is cheaper right now than Southwest. From philly to orlando we paid 354 for 2 adults.

We just got SWA out of Philly so I don't know too much about them.. when should they start with bookings for Mid November? Do they have an email alert so you'll know??

Flying aug 8-23 on southwest from buffalo. Non stop going down, and a layover at BWI coming home. Total price for 5 was 926.50

Go to the SWA website, www.southwestair.com and sign up for their weekly newsletter. It comes out on Tues.

Thanks Gail but I'm already signed up....the last notice I got last week didn't have any info about extended dates...thought I might have needed to use a different sign up...

I checked on Tuesday, when their email comes out and the schedule still only went through Aug. 7.

I booked my flight home; one flight was already sold out of the "cheap" seats.

Also, all three outgoing flights were now booked of the cheap seats....I'm glad I booked a one way earlier (I'm leaving July 30 and returning home Aug. 7)

We have tickets now for 5 people from San Jose to Orlando for $1175!

I asked about airport security, too. The agent told me that people who buy one way tickets, way ahead of time, with a credit card, are not "targeted" as security risks. Let's hope so!

Nope, actually that happened after Tuesday. They don't send emails when they extend the dates.

Just to clarify, I just reread the email sent yesterday, and it wasn't their weekly Tuesday internet specials they sent me, it was a Rapid Rewards E-mail Update. They mentioned their specials to get more rewards and at the end of the email it stated, "Our schedule is now open for sale through September 13, 2004."
