Southwest flyers: could a small air mattress in a bag be considered a personal item?

We are flying Southwest and are considering bringing a twin size air mattress for DS2 to use during our trip. If we bring it in the carrying bag it comes with, do you know if this could be considered one of the personal items you are allowed to carry on the plane? Thanks :thumbsup2
 
Yes. It will fit under the seat in front of you, since it's so small.

This answer is not specific to Southwest. You could carry it onboard any airline.
