Just got an email from Southwest, for 30% off the purchase of points.

I am skeptical but does anyone know, is this a good deal?

Points will be losing 17% of their value in just a few days. Unless you need a couple thousand points in order to book right now, I don't see the need to ever purchase points. There are so many ways to earn them for free.

Ive seen this promotion a few times but Im not sure its a good deal. If you pay for your flight the traditional way, you earn points for your flight. If you buy points and then use those points to book a flight, you dont earn any extra points on top of that. So this might be the reason they discount the points.
