Southwest: Does $12.50 cover both segments of flight? (one way,changing planes)

I searched on the website, but can't find this answer. If our flight has 2 segments, connects in another city,changing planes, does the one $12.50 fee get us early-bird check-in for the entire flight? If you do it on your own, with the 24 check-in, I assume you need to do both segments separately? Thanks

This is what is what I found on the Southwest website:

EarlyBird Check-In can be purchased for $12.50 one-way (origin to destination). A credit card must be used for the purchase of EarlyBird Check-In.


So I would take it that it that its just one fee one way! Feb. 18th can't come soon enough! I'm really hoping their prices are better than what I am seeing for August by other airlines!

Yes, it's good for both segments. If the plane you're in for the second leg has originated elsewhere, your seat choice won't be as good though. There will be others already on the plane.

Yes. When you print boarding passes you get both (originating flight and connector) at the same time.

EArly bird applies to both segments of your one way connecting flight for 12.50. It is 12.50 again for the way home.

Normal 24 check in is 24 hours before the start of your FIRST segment of your connecting flight but you will get boarding passes for both segments then.

This is important note for those originating from common SW connection cities such as Chicago Midway or BWI. In those cases most of your fellow passengers will be connecting to that flight from another flight which means you will be towards the back of your group (either EBCI or normal check in at 24 hours) since they got a few hour jump start on you.
