Just got a ding for Baltimore to Orlando for $64/each way and Indpls. for $47/each way good for 6/17-8/30 must book by 1:30pm CST

Also got one that expires later today (cant remember time) for Manchester $62, Kansas City $98 and Midland/Odessa $90

Yes... some VERY good Dings today. Just rebooked our flight from the beginning of Aug. for the last week of August (trying to go when it is less crowded) since now it is open until Aug. 30 instead of just until the 22nd. From Manchester to Orlando for 2 for only $249 in summer is just great I think especially with the gas prices and the fact that a reg. fare for 2 would have been ~$440

That IS a good deal..I am hoping for something for Detroit!

My *Ding* works for a few days, then I start getting "communication error" messages. I have to uninstall/reinstall, then it works ok again for the next few days! Driving me crazy!!!!

I can't get the Ding to work on my computer at work.
Is there any way someone with "Ding" power could let me know when a deal for Chicago to Orlando comes up?
I'm trying to go for the Food and Wine Festival as I've never been there for that.

I get the communication errors quite frequently. No need to uninstall/reinstall, though... just right-click on the Ding! icon and click "exit", then relaunch the program. The communciation generally happens when my ISP has a temporary blip, or my wireless drops off for a moment.

I got another ding for Chicago but its only for travel through Aug 30 and the Food & Wine Festival doesnt start until end of September I believe...

Unfortunately, the only way to book a Ding! fare is through the Ding! program. You can't book them through calling, and they won't show under the conventional online reservations portion. At least that's what I was told anyway by a SW agent :smooth: .

What the heck is a "ding" and how do I get it? Can someone give me the dummies version? :)

I live in Indy and am planning to fly down sometime in June or July, so... ARGH!

Ding! is Southwest's super-low fare program. You'll get an alert, and have a specific amount of time - several hours - in which to buy rock-bottom fares.

This one is showing right now -

Indianapolis to Orlando for $47!
- Fare is valid for travel June 17 through August 30, 2005 only

It's good until 10:30pm CT tonight! Hurry! :bounce:

WOOO!!!!!! I'm off to check it out - thank you!! (I thought I'd missed it - the earlier post said 1:30 vs. 10:30.) :) :) :)

Edited... OMG, y'all. Including all taxes and such: Eighty. Two. DOLLARS. Roundtrip!!!! The fares are even cheaper than what the Ding menu shows. I love this board!
