Last February we flew Southwest and didn't do the check in prior to arriving at the airport--needless to say it was a disaster--dd9 had to sit with strangers, I was in the front of the plane, DS was in the rear somewher alone 13 and DH was somewhere in the middle. I was a nervous wreck the whole flight to Buffalo. I do not want a repeat of that situation, so what do I do? We ahve a laptop and can check in on line to get the A seating, but can we pick up the boarding passes when we get to the airport? Would the resort concierge be able to help me? I'm so confused and do not want to panick allthe way home! My parents are older and my Mom walks with a cane so they'll be able to pre-board and my sister has two little ones under three so she'll be able to pre-board, but I'm kind of in the middle the kids are bigger so A or B passes are necessary to get seats with at least one adult/one child near one another.

If you have your laptop with you, just check in online and then pick up your boarding pass at the airport. That's what I've done the last 2 WDW trips.

I was wondering if someone back home could check us in and we could just get the boarding passes when we get to the airport?

Hi-
Yes-that's what we just did.
It worked out great....we just re-printed our boarding pases at the airport.

You can reprint your BP's at any Southwest kiosk. All you need is your conf.# and the name of the passenger who the ressie is under.

Very Easy.

Yes - this is exactly what we did at AKL in October. My dh checked in at home for us and printed out the boarding passes. Then when we got to the gate we did the automated kiosk check in (curbside was long line) and reprinted out the boarding passes and checked our luggage. Went smooth as silk and got the A pass.

We also inqured at AKL and were told that the Concierge at could check us in and print the passes. Since we could have dh do it from home we didn't want to leave the park. If dh couldn not have done it I would have returned to the resort to do it or used one of hte business centers - whichever was closer to the park of the day!

When leaving in August, we were able to check in for our flight and print our barding passes from the front desk at the Beach Club at midnight. The front desk CM's were terrific helping me so that I got the "A" pass. It appeared that they do this all the time, but I'm not sure if every resort does this, or if I just got a very helpful CM. I suggest calling the resort you are staying at to confirm if they can/will print your boarding passes for you at the front desk or concierge desk.

I agree to a point, the front desk at AKL had no Idea what I wanted and the CM asked everyone else at the desk. Slide over to the concerige desk and everyone not only knew what I needed but joked about getting comissions form SWA they were great.

Also, just to clarify the SWA window for printing boarding passes is now 24 hours prior - not midnight, a fairly recent change.

You can check in without printing and then just print at the airport? And, still get an A (hopefully)?

Ok, silly question. We had Fl Tours last time and they dropped us off right at the curbside check-in. Where exactly is the Southwest counter and where is the automated kiosk check in?

One more question, can someone tell me where exactly the business centers are and what hotels they are in. Thanks

I wanted to add that I am staying at POFQ

I dropped by Beach Club Front Desk Concierge (formerly called Guest Relations) this morning while waiting on my breakfast seating at Cape May and they printed my boarding pass for me no problem!

I was a Pop Century guest. So you should be able to go to any resort front desk concierge desk and get your SW boarding pass.

Yes - sort of, My dh checked us in exactly 24 hours prior and got A passes, he did print the passes in Delaware. Then when we checked in at MCO and checked our luggage we re-printed our boarding passes.

IIRC curbside is just outside the SWA counters and the kiosks are just left of the regular check in counters, not 100% sure however.

The business centers are in the convention hotels, Dolphin, Coronado Srpings and Contemporary. Just hit the lobby and ask or follow the signs for the buisness center.

Or any resort concierge will check you in with swa 24 hours prior and print your boarding pass for you. The only advantage of the business center is that you can do it yourself. You will likely have to pay for that privlidge however.

Ok, on re-read that sounded snarky, I just can't remember where all the business centers are - just that they are easy to find. HTH

Thanks for the info. I am sure that I can find them now. My 24 hrs start at 2:10 in the afternoon so I am trying to make plans to be able to get them then.

I just wanted to add, the cm at Boardwalk was very accomodating when asked to print off the boarding passes. I had my dad do it, as it was more conveneint for him, and he had NO IDEA what I was asking him to do (he didnt understand the whole printing passes online thing) so he reluctantly agreed to ask at the desk, and he came back quite pleased that while he had NO IDEA what he needed, the cm knew exactly what to do. Got them printed off, group A.

Staci,
What a cute story about your Dad and the boarding passes! And what a good sport he was to do something he didn't quite understand! :)

Yup, :Pinkbounc as long as you get to the screen that displays your boarding passes, you're good to go.

We flew home on Saturday (6:30 flight) - checked in using our laptop (no printer) on Friday @6:35 or so. Got A's- #3 & 4! :). Checked luggage and printed our boarding passes at the airport using the self check-in kiosk. Quick and painless!
