Southwest, Booster Seats and Carry-on?

My daughter and I are flying down to WDW tomorrow on Southwest. I really want to bring her booster seat for the car even though she's technically allowed to ride in a car without it down in Florida. My question is, can you gate check a booster seat the way you can a stroller? I don't want to check it in as we're only taking carry-ons - my other luggage went down with my husband today.

Also, if you have a boarding pass already (I'm going to do online check-in) and you only have carry-ons, do you need to check in anywhere at the airport (like at the gate) or do you just go to the gate and board the plane?

Thanks :)

Yes you can gate check the car seat. No need to stop anywhere but security if you already have your boarding pass and carry ons.
