Southwest airlines has opened reservations for travel through Jan 14th 2005. I just booked our Christmas trip. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Call quick to get the discounted seats
Good for you! I have always wanted to go to WDW at Christmas, but I would want it to be with my entire family, including my parents, siblings etc...someday....
Thanks for the heads-up Boardwalk Tigger!
I just got online for the day and skipped my E-mails.
Went to my E-mails and MY Rapid Rewards update was just waiting for ME TOO!
Funny though that SWA opened res's for 5 MONTHS inadvance.
I thought that SWA only goes 3 months out on Res?
Oh Well!
.. I can't get the internet fare to Orlando for Oct, Nov or Dec? I think it is because the special (systemwide sale) is only through Sept. 30 for Florida. I was really hoping for that $49 fare for our cruise in Nov and to go to HHB in Oct. I am not sure whether or not I should wait... ? Has anyone been able to get good deals for after Sept. 30 to Orlando?
I check the SW site daily when I am looking to book an upcoming trip. SW emails me about specials etc but they always do it several days after a new release so by the time I receive it most of the seats are gone. I think they do this so the travel agents get first dibs. This time though, I was waiting for them

It might be that your email server is not delivering them in a timely fashion.
My emails come the same days the fares or extensions are released. Travel agents don't paid a commission on airfare, so, while the theory is good on your part, it is really not the way it works.
What time yesterday did you receive the information on your computer? I talked to several people and they told me they received the information from SW yesterday but several hours after the release of the fares. By then most of the good fares are gone( if it is a busy time period) . Travel agents make money on package deals which include airfare. In our area SW is the only airline to fly direct to Orlando and travel agents grab many of the seats as soon as they are released. You really have to be online ( as I was) and checking to get them.
You are right though that the Dividend miles information came yesterday on my computer with the new release dates of airfare. The actual announcement comes from SW in a different form later. However the announcement in the dividend miles email was still was several hours after the release of the fares
Interesting.. I just tried it again, for BWI-MCO -- nothing lower than $79. I put in PVD and sure enough $49! Don't think I am gonna make the trek to Rhode Island just to save $120 (Me and DH) .. Congrats for you, psupple But i feel like saying 'Not Fair!'

Just an update.. after reading this I called SWA (in hopes of getting the $49 fair past sept. 30) - turns out the Rhode Island deal was a mistake and they are going to pull the fares- but they will still honor the rate for those who have booked past sept. 30 -- h
