Southwest Airlines 2 free flights credit card offer-What's the catch?

Does anybody know how long after you get an online approval do you the actual hardcopy and/or card?
 
Don't forget..if you tell them no, that you don't want yoru spouses name on the card, you can apply for two of them, one in each name and get 4 roundtrip tickets.
 

ok--- weird...I filled out an online app- then when I hit 'submit' got a eird 'done' blank screen....what happened? should i just wait and see? this has happened before with the chase site- and after a week or so a card appears in the mailbox......

Once the bill has been paid and the points/awards given to SW, you can cancel. They will prob say to you..did you get this card just for the free tickets, to which you say, yup!

The $59 is the yearly fee. We actually kept one, because we use it for everything and usually get a couple or more free tickets during the year.

I just applied for both my husband and I to receive cards. Since we are Disney Visa Card holders with online accounts I submitted that info and then most of the application was done for us. I submitted each time and both were instantly approved. Now we sit and wait for the cards to arrive so we can use them and get our credits for the tickets. Hope this all works out. :eek:
 
Afrer waiting a while I've just applied and didn't get an instant approval. I wonder if that's a bad sign, since I'm hoping to get the card and use it and be able to get the 2 free r/t tix for this summer. I'm wondering if I've waited too long to actually be able to get the rewards/points to use in June or July.
 
I got a weird blank screen, I assume that means I didn't get approved immediately,or my computer is glitchy- could be either one:rotfl2: it would surprise me if we get turned down since our cr is excellent.....I'll wait 10 days,then call and see if they got the application......
 
I did it the end of September and received my ticket credits online in about 5wks I think. I actually did 4 oneways and purchased 2 more oneways on SWA then did 6 oneways on United (I also had points to use with United). It is for spring break and they were still available in December. My total for the 4 oneways was $10 ($2.50 per ticket--one way)

Side note: the 2 tickets I paid for on SWA went down in price by $25 each so I received a credit for $50 which I used for an unrelated trip for my MIL

So these 2 free roundtrip tickets can be used for 4 one-way tickets? That's what I want to do since we have a trip few months from now that we'll fly to a city and come back from a different city. Thanks.

It was all within a week.. and interestingly the 59.00 was waived for me when I activated but not my DH.. my limit was higher, but probably because our remaining debt is in his name.

Poor guy was annoyed about it, which is funny because his income is the only way I could even get approved!
 
Think we are going to sign up tomorrow!!! Did someone say its about 5 weeks after your 1st use of the card you will get the 2 free round trip tickets? (You can use the tickets for other familey memebers correct? not just the card holder?) Just trying to see if we will get them intime for them to release Nov dates.

Does anyone know if Canadians can get the Southwest Credit Card?

I was just talking to customer service and asked that question...she said yes, just go into international....I cant find it anywhere.........:confused3. I will call back tomorrow.

I called about being Canadian and getting the card, this is the customer service number I was given. 1 800 792 0001. BTW, no Canadians can not apply if they dont have a US residence...too bad!
 
Another question - I don't think anyone's asked it yet. Assuming the rewards go to the new "points" system, what would happen if I don't have enough points for my 2 round trip tickets? Can I just pay the difference?
 
Do you have to have a rewards number? The application asked for your rewards # so I was wondering if that is optional.
