Southwest Airlines 2 free flights credit card offer-What's the catch?

I tried firefox too. I think it's funny that we both see something different. Doesn't really matter to me, since I usually have an award and I just go on book it, and find the openings.

I wonder if it's how your browser is reading the page? I'm on Firefox. Do you have a second browser installed? If so, try opening that page with a different browser and see if you see the checkmarks.

Yeah, that's really weird. Still waiting for my awards. It's been three weeks since I used my card(s).

OK, so if I don't want to use these free tickets until our Disney cruise in May 2012, could I delay my first purchase until late May 2011, therefore making the free tickets good until late May 2012? Thanks

I don't know if that will work, because because the special may be over..and, I don't know if they will count the $59 as a purchase. I didn't want to take a chance to find out, so I made a purchase. If you do do that, be sure to let us know if it worked.

I have a question and a request
How do you know what dates are available for an awards trip without having an awards account with awards available?
Can someone who has an account look it up for me and see if there are 3 seets open for awards booking.
My dates would be from
MDW to MCO July 1st till July 15th evening fliight times

She said no. that either way they would MAIL us "vouchers" for the free flights. I said ok, but I thought I read HERE, that credits are deposited into our RR account?

I just called today to activate my card. I asked how the rewards worked. They said after the first purchase/closing date that 32 credits would be automatically transferred over to my Southwest Rapid Rewards account. They said it would take just 7 to 10 days from the first closing date for those awards to show up. They didn't say anything about vouchers to me.They did say that the credits could be used on any seat on Southwest for anywhere they fly.

On another note, I did not have a rapid rewards number to put on my application when I applied. When I called them today to give them my rapid rewards number ... they already had the exact same number attached to my card (though it was not printed on my credit card). So, seemingly, there was no trouble in that area.

When I called to activate the card, I was told that I'd be given 32 credits, but would have a one time opportunity to do a transfer to points. I guess I'll just have to wait to see how it all plays out.

I was also told that my closing date is the 16th, and they couldn't make it any sooner so now I'm worried that I will miss the best flight opportunity for our Oct trip as the schedule will be open more than a week before my credits appear.

I am a little annoyed that I was told it was vouchers. She sounded so "sure". I guess she was winging it. Makes me mad because I did not ASK for information, she kept asking ME if I had any questions, etc. So I finally just said, "how do I get the free tickets?", and does it matter if I use the card before March 1 for the first time.

So how does this compare with the previous offer; better or worse? I guess I don't know how many points it takes for a free flight.

if you book a "wanna get away" ticket for every dollar of the price you need 60points....so it really depends if its a better offer or not on how much the ticket would have cost....

There have never been vouchers, however, you do get emailed something like a voucher, to let you know you the awards (or now, the points) have been deposited in your account. Maybe that's what she meant. They have so many different types of cards, and so many have been scrambling to get these cards, maybe she was confused.

I got my card last week and am more confused than ever. I get 16 credits for my round trip but the points seem crazy. Everything is very expensive today. Gonna wait until I have all my credits and gift cards to purchase air.

So, you got credits instead of points (but you only got for one round trip instead of two)? If they have the seats you want, that may be the best bet for you, if the prices are high. I just changed someone's booking today, because the price was lower than when she booked on Sunday.
