southwest airline discount codes?

I have read on here in the past how people are talking about codes they get from southwest airlines for things like 25 bucks off their flights. Is this something that only the people that get send the code can use or can anyone use them??? If anybody can use then does anybody have any they wouldnt mind sharing. Flights prices are a little to high and it looks like we might have to drive and really dont want to have to do that. Thanks for any info you can provide.

The only code I know of was for $25 off a RT wanna get away fare, but you just missed it, you had to book by 8/1. Sorry

do not know if they are still issuing this code, it was suppost to expire on august 1, however, there have been reports of people who had "extra" codes lieing around that they still work


they were "giving" codes away last saturday, the last day of the supposed cut off, but it seems perhaps SW computers has not rolled over to prevent the codes from being used

there were blackout dates ...eg labour day, thanksgiving week and december 1 was the final cut off day for booking

if you did not book roundtrip you could not use the code

maybe someone still has a code "stashed" away some place

we tried an tried with the florida.com share website to get a code but never had one sent by SW

it really seemed to be a "crapshoot" whether or not you got a code from southwest
