Sorry, another Southwest question. In the email I got, it says 50,000 points...fares to be redeemed for 2 roundtrip flights.

So those of you have who have got the card with this offer, that means you can only get 2 roundtrip flights? What if the flights are less than the 50,000 points?

You can buy as many as the points allow you. I purchased 7 one way tickets on points. So buy as many as you can, with your points.

Thank you! That sounds great. The points go off price, right? Not miles or anything else?

When you bring up the flight, it will show price with money and price with points. Click on points, and it will tell you how many points you need for the flight.

We booked 4 roundtrip flights from Chicago to Orlando with under 50,000 points. Well worth the $99 fee :)

We booked three round trip flights, and I have enough for a one way ticket left afterwards.

Thanks everyone :goodvibes Confirms my belief that this board is the best to go to if I want a fast, accurate response :)

I'm so glad that my DH & I both got in on the SW card when we did (Thanks to these boards)! We are using it for all bills that we can pay with a CC, plus all shopping, groceries & gas. I agree with above posters, the points can be broken up any way. If I cash in my points for one way tickets for the four of us & DH uses his points for return flights that would be allowed.

When I signed up for the card, 50K was worth 2 round trips for October with some left over. By the time I used it for a month and the points posted, the price had gone up and it was only worth 1 1/2 tickets. Still a big savings.

Who knows SW well? The website says the next timeframe opens up on 6/4 for flights thru 1/4. I need flights on 1/3 with a return on 1/12. Are the best prices likely to be as soon as the flights open for sale or some time later?

I buy tickets as soon as the window opens up, and then watch for the prices to drop and get the difference back in credit.

I got in right as the deal ended and got approved....I'm excited at the possibilities :) You can also use the points to book vacations at Disney....which is awesome :) My fee is only 69.00 a year though....what was the 99.00 fee card?

I just called today when I searched my e-mail and found my offer. The offer came to me for the 50,000 free points, not my husband. However, when applying they asked for ind. income (currently I am not working) not household. My credit score is awesome (just checked it again in Jan) but if I report a 0 income, what is the use? I questioned the gal (who was most likely outsourced) about this and she really didn't have an answer, so I just said forget it. Guess I should have continued - doesn't hurt to try??

Is the 50K point deal not active anymore? How many points do you get now?

Thanks!

I got the card with the $99 a year fee. I will get 600 bonus points a year instead of 300. That is the only difference.
