This is on the transportation board as well, but I thought you budget savvy folks might want to know as well. Southwest is giving 40% off flights November 28-February 14. There are blackout dates in mid-December through early January. We were able to cancel and rebook our flights for $130 RT from Chicago for January. The promo code is BIGDEAL40. I hope some of you can take advantage!

Thanks for the heads up !!

I checked our flights. Only one direction is on sale for us but combined with an increased return flight price it works out to be more expensive. Rats. Wish our dates matched up better!

That is HUGE! I just flew 3 weeks ago and spent $1100 for the family of 4. Just priced a week in February and it was $686!!!! Yup, makes me want to go back.

Thanks for the heads up. Our January flight to CA was actually cheaper Saturday than it is today, and our flight home is more expensive today too.

I'm still happy for everyone who is finding deals!!!!

I was just checking the board to see if this was posted! We just bought 2 tix for our Marathon trip: round trip from Columbus, OH for $328...much cheaper than our Sept trip!

I almost had a heart attack when I got this e-mail. I just broke down and ordered tickets for our Jan trip on Sunday. The discount would be great for me and my DD, but my DS and his GF won't be flying again within the year (poor college students :rotfl2:)

However, our flight out is during the blackout dates, so the discount would not have helped me anyway. Oh well, I guess it's good I got the tickets before the prices go up again.

I received this email today from Southwest. Boy was I super excited to see that our dates were not blacked out!! We saved a ton for our January trip!! Thanks Southwest!!

Just about booked 2 days ago for 3 adults. Would have been $602. Today...$414! YAY! :cool1:

I was dancing when I got this email this morning!

I was actually planning on booking airfares tomorrow. Looked at it with this code & the price is nearly half what it was before!!how lucky is that!! Any idea if I'll be able to use the code tomorrow?

Do you have to enter personal information for every passenger before you can put in the promo code to figure out if it will apply? Is there any way to get a list of destinations that are on sale from a particular airport? I wouldn't mind an inexpensive winter getaway from Philadelphia but its pretty challenging to "browse."

The code seems to be valid until tomorrow (10/11) at midnight!!! :cool1:

No, you don't. When you open up SWA page, on the left side, put in Philly and your destination and your dates. Right below that, put in the number in your party and then right below that is a spot for promo code. If the code applies, you will see the "Wanna get away" fare crossed out and the new one right next to it. Good luck!

Thank you. I was using an iPad app. I will try again with the regular website.

Wow! Just got round trip tickets from Norfolk to Orlando in February for $165! We weren't sure we could go, but we are now!

Interesting. I signed up for a SW Credit Card to get the 50,000 miles. The points won't be in my account for 2 weeks. So I guess I'll buy the flight now and bank the points until next year or whenever I next take a SWA flight.

Just booked a flight for my father-in-law for his trip here in Dec. And rebooked my mom's flight and have nearly a $50 credit now she'll probably use in the spring! :)

I just want to say Thank you to "Disney Princess" for starting this thread. I might have missed this deal if not.

I've been checking Southwest.com every Tuesday afternoon for a couple months, tracking the prices. This past Tuesday, 4 round trip tickets from Austin to Disneyland (SNA) totaled $1,324.80. Then this deal knocked 35% off the total. I bought 4 tickets yesterday for $864.00, for a savings of $460.80! I looked today, and I guess they are running out of seats now on the flight I booked, because 4 tickets totals $1,812.80!

Thanks again. That savings will be huge on the budget.

We were originally traveling Sunday through Friday. I rebooked our trip to Saturday through Friday and saved about $325!!!! And we get an extra day at Disney!!
