Red Hot Chili Peppers' Music Spices Up Space Mountain and California
Screamin'
ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- During the first-of-its kind
"Year of a Million Dreams" celebration at the Disneyland Resort,
Southern California residents get two parks for the price of one with
the 2fer offer.
From January 3 - April 26, 2007, guests who purchase a 2fer ticket
(and reside within zip codes 90000-93599 or Baja California
21000-22999) can visit Disneyland Park one day and Disney's California
Adventure Park on another day (within 30 days from the first use) for
the price of one visit. The 2fer offer can be purchased at
Vons/Pavilions stores, Disney stores or online at www.disneyland.com.
Also during this special time and as part of the "Year of a Million
Dreams" celebration, Disneyland is Rockin' Both Parks. Rock fans'
dreams will come true as music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and new
special effects will temporarily transform Space Mountain at
Disneyland and California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure
into new rock n' roll adventures.
Guests will experience Space Mountain like never before. The
high-speed interstellar adventure that has captivated Disneyland
guests since the 1970s, will temporarily have an all-new twist.
Rockin' Space Mountain fans will find the attraction sporting new
technology that features illuminated rock fans dancing, more than 200
lights brightening the track, and a brand-new, customized soundtrack
by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band's hit song, "Higher Ground," which
was a 1989 remake version of the Stevie Wonder original tune, will
create an out-of-this-world rock adventure. Along with new technology
and lighting, all systems are a go.
Riders of Rockin' California Screamin' at Disney's California
Adventure will also twist and turn to a new soundtrack. With a
specially customized version of Red Hot Chili Peppers' 1999 hit
"Around the World," guests will rock through the attraction's 6,000
feet of track. The four-minute ride is the world's longest steel
looping roller coaster and takes guests from zero to 55 miles per hour
in just four seconds.
"Year of a Million Dreams," which began on October 1, is being
celebrated at Disney Parks in the United States. For 15 months, the
Resorts are celebrating dreams coming true, making literally millions
of dreams, large and small, come true for eligible guests. Many
money-can't-buy experiences -- from exclusive Dream FASTPASSES for
popular Disney attractions to around-the- world vacations or a stay in
the special Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel -- are
being awarded at random to guests. In addition to the Disney Dreams
Giveaway, guests are enjoying all new immersive entertainment
experiences at the resort. At Disneyland Park, guests are meeting,
playing and learning their royal ways with Disney Princesses at Disney
Princess Fantasy Faire, dueling with Darth Vader at Jedi Training
Academy and creating mayhem with Pirates in New Orleans Square. At
Disney's California Adventure Park, guests young and old are bopping
to the beat and joining in the fun of the High School Musical Pep
Rally. The "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration lasts through 2007.

It is true. I checked on the DLR website. Its right on the front page about the 2fer offer. Wish I were a SoCal resident.:sad1:

They offer the 2fer deal every year. We've taken advantage of the deal for the last 4-5 years. If you have a socal friend, they can purchase the tickets for you.

We are staying with a friend in SoCal. Could she buy the tickets online for us and not come. She was planning to drop us off for the day. Do they check for ID at the gate?

We were just there this weekend on the 2fer deal. We ordered online, and our tickets were ready at the will call window. Yes, your ID had to be shown to pick up the tickets, but once you go to the actual gate you just give them your tickets (they don't check id at the gate).

If your friend orders them for you, she needs to be the one to pick them up at the gate, and then you guys can just go in.

It's a great deal!

Jasonshannon76,

Thanks for info.

We were just trying to avoid the whole parking thing by just being dropped off and maybe stay overnight at one of the hotels by the entrance.

There is a drop off lot off Harbor, right where the buses/ ART/ shuttles pull in. Maybe she could pull in there, hop out get the tickets while you wait with her car, then when she returns with the tickets you can go in and she can be on her way (hows that for a run on sentance! LOL). I think its a 15 or 30 minute parking lot. Its just a short walk to the ticket booths from there.

Have your friend look in local grocery stores or her employer's human resources/benefits department. She can purchase the tickets before you arrive and then drop you off as planned. My dad bought our tickets for us when we used the 2fer deal and DL never checked our id's at the gate.

Does anyone know which local supermarket have these tickets available? My cousin lives in Temple City if that helps.

I plan on going alone with my 3 year old. Is there enough to do at California Adventure to keep us busy for a whole day on a Monday in January. I will be by myself so thrill rides are out(no baby swap:sad1:) . These tickets do not let you hop; we will be going to Disneyland on Tuesday.

We have non-expiry WDW hopper tickets that we could trade in for 2 days but the trade in value is not as good as the 2fer deal. If I trade in 2 days, then we can do California Adventure 1/2 day and Disneyland for 1 1/2 days.

What should I do?

Buy new 2fer tickets: Give Disney more money.
or
Trade in WDW hoppers: Cost almost double; but it's money already spent.

hah, 2fer is a very tricky ticket... i thought it was way too good of a deal but when i heard how costco tickets work, i realized their kinda stupid... its Buy a Disneyland One Park Ticket, get DCA One Park TIcket Free... Help populate DCA :)

I believe Vons sell Disneyland tickets...

i would just pass it out... there are some stuff you can go and play like animation studio or go shopping...

Pavilions/Vons sells the 2fer tickets. Personally, we like DCA. My kids are 4 and 8 and have lots of fun. DD LOVES the Aladdin show and is disappointed if we can't see it. Also the electric parade is only at DCA. I think it's more relaxing at DCA - fewer crowds, more things to walk around and see without lines, areas that the kids can run & climb. However, if you truly want a Disney experience then you are probably better off just visiting DL. We go all the time so the difference is good.

My parents are using the 2fer next month. They were only going one day at DCA(for my daughters birthday met us at DL for our sons bday last year) then spend the night and meet up with my Aunt (in Irvine) the next before heading home. Now they get to add a few hours at DL the second day before leaving for lunch. I LOVE the 2 fer!

2fer fans here. The timing is right for DS1's birthday, as well as spring break (I'm a teacher). So we take advantage of it. I agree with Albort, though. It's purpose is to bring people into DCA. Back in the day, So Cal residents would just get discounted admission during the low season. But when DCA opened, they changed it, most likely to bring the crowds. So now we have the 2fer instead.

How do Costo tickets work?

The Costco tickets are 4 one-day-one-park tickets, that I believe can be used in either park. They all have to be used by the same person though. I think these are around $130, and I'm pretty sure the residency requirements are the same.
