Southern California Pass is back

This really is a head scratcher! People were speculating that the DCA Fun Pass spelled the end for SoCal passes. I guess not?

What the heck? So I guess they got rid of them due to the 60th and now want to keep up the huge crowds? But didn't they also up the prices in the name of "lowering crowds?"

Seems like they are acting a little manic and don't really know what their own goals are anymore. Because in a couple years, or less, we are going to see this suspension of the So Cal AP and related price hikes cycle repeat itself when Star Wars land comes.

I might have thought that if it wasn't a Costco exclusive deal. Since it is, it seems like just another discounted special offering.

Technically, they never "got rid" of them. Sales were halted in order to reduce the proportion of those APs, but existing So Cal passholders could still renew. It sounds like their numbers have reduced enough to where sales can now be reinstituted.

Ah crud. Just when I thought crowds might return to tolerable levels, they do this. At $459 a pop, though, it's not super cheap. Cheaper than what I got mine for but not as cheap as they used to be. The price point may keep people from diving in with this pass.

No joke.

Considering I got my Signature for $799 (renewal) and it has parking, the SoCal doesn't seem like such a great deal anymore. I've been 7 times in the last month, so I guess it's worth it for me now. I had the SoCal for 3 years and I'm loving the signature. Getting ride pictures is a great perk for me.

Crowds dropped 4% at Disneyland last quarter even though profits were up. No matter what they say to the public, they want the parks jammed packed 7 days a week. The reintroduction of the SoCal pass proves that. #Disney'sGreedy
