Has anyone used Southeast airlines? Thinking of booking them out of Allentown, PA to Orlando-Sanford airport.

How close is this airport to WDW and can we get limo service from there?

The wife and kids just flew to Sanford on Southeast Airlines today (from Newburgh, NY).

Check in was typical - wait on line, check bags, get seat assignments. Flight took off on time. Landed a little late as they had to circle a while and wait for clearance to land (had nothing to do with Southeast, probably plane traffic or something). The plane was nice and clean.

They took Tiffany Towncar from Sanford to Disney. Roundtrip rate for a towncar is $160 (not including tip) and the trip took just under one hour. All the major car services will pick up at Sanford and rates ranged from $160 to $180 roundtrip.

So far, so good - hopefully they have a good trip home on Monday.

Thanks for the quick reply, that was exactly the info. I was looking for!

We are doing the ABE to Sanford in March. Got the tickets for $133 each. Just remember that they don't fly everyday so you may have to adjust your travel dates. Parking for ABE is $7 a day, and Souteast is a ticketless airline meaning that you will get an itenairy with a confirmation code and that's it. Take that along with driver's license and kid social securtity or birth certs with you. The town car is a little more then from MCO but I hate PHL and EWR and with ABE being only 30 min away....Besides I couldn't get a flight under $170 from either of them. Because I am flying out of ABE I was able to book 2 more nights at ASMo. Good luck!!!!
PS. I called Souteast because I was concerned about the ticketless thing and they were VERY couteous and answered all my questions.

Thanks I grew up in Warren County by the way -- Washington, NJ.

I used Southeast out of Allentown in the beginning of December. Remember that whopper of a snowstorm on the 5th? We left in it! There were some delays due to crew rest (storm was in SE night before) and a broken water line. Return flight home was ontime and uneventful. Ticket agents and flight attendants were very courteous. Sanford is a much smaller airport than MCO, but it's modern and clean. As for transportation, I rented a car from Dollar. I believe National and Alamo are also onsite. For what you would be paying a limo service, you can just as easily rent a car.

Sanford to WDW on the Greene Way (417 South) took just under an hour and was about $5.00 or so in tolls. Upon return, I used I-4 to Lake Mary Rd (?) exit...it's well marked for Sanford airport. You take the exit and continue straight until you come to Sanford Airport about 8 miles later! The return trip from DD took about an hour, which included a stop for gas.

We'll be taking Southeast again come late March and we've booked a rental car with National. My driving preference for a route to WDW and back is actually taking the Greene Way, despite the tolls. Lake Mary Rd. seemed a long stretch of 35-45mph roadway interrupted by traffic lights. If you hit them wrong, it can take a long time. I've heard from some locals that the Greene Way now intersects with I-4 north of the airport and that may be a way to bypass Lake Mary Road.

If you decide to go with a towncar service, I'd suggest arranging it beforehand so a driver will meet you. Sanford airport is not nearly as large as MCO and when we arrived in the early afternoon, I didn't see a lot of taxis sitting around waiting to be hired. I ended up giving my plane seat mate a ride to WDW because she had no prearranged transport.

Hope this helps!

Yeap, I was on that same flight as MulanMom, it was so much fun waiting on the gate for an extra 1.5 hours, wasn't it?? ;) but mostly everything was fine, if it wasn't because of the storm we would have been on time.
I rented a car from National which is right outside of the baggage claim area , I was supposed to get a geo metro for $98 for four days all taxes included ( it was only me travelling ) and when I got there they gave me a full size Chevy Malibu, I was in heaven.
The check in process was fine, the only problem I found was the plane, the leg room is limited and it can be uncomfortable for tall people, I saw several people complain about that, their planes are MD80's and they only fly out of allentown I believe thursday through sunday. I would use them again if the price is right , as a matter of fact if they still have rates like that in december, I plan on booking again unless something better comes along.
The trip from Sanford to WDW is piece of cake, I4 all the way both ways and no tolls, it's very well signed , take it from me that I don't like driving in places I don't know.

We are going to have a party of 5 so I don't think that a rental car would be cheaper then the limo service.

Very nice of you to give a stranger a ride to Disney! Sounds like something I would do too.
