South West Airline gift cards and Target Red card ( 5%)

I heard Target sells south west airlines gift cards? If so can you apply the 5% target discount possibly 10% if you use pharmacy rewards as well to get them cheaper?

Yes you can get the discount, however SWA only excepts 4 forms of payment. And this is regardless if you are online or on the phone. So if your flight cost more than $200, you could buy 3 $50 gift cards and you have to pay the balance with a credit card. If more than one person is traveling, it may be best to book all of them separate to save the most.

I guess that wont work because there is 6 of youngest being 5 so I cant book theres separate

Another thing you can do (and you will have to determine if it's worth your while) is purchase $150 refundable tickets with your 3 gift cards. Then ask for a refund. The refund applies as one travel voucher.

Because I have an employee discount as well (making it 15%) I chose to do it, but I understand if it might be too big of a mess for some.

They don't have to be old enough to have a credit card if that's what you mean. You can still book each ticket separately. My husband, son and I take an annual trip on Southwest. When the tickets first open, I usually only have enough miles to book one of the reservations. As I earn points or find better deals on the tickets, I get the other two. Some years I have to pay for one or two of them. I pay for all three reservations with my credit card.

I was not able to do this on another airline (United); I'm not sure about SW. They would be considered an unaccompanied minor and there is a hefty charge for that on other airlines. I haven't looked into it for SW, but United wouldn't let me link the reservations to show that we were all on the same flight.

No, I do this all the time. You can book the child on their own reservation but it will ask you in the process if there is another adult traveling with them. You say yes, enter your conf #, and you are all set. :thumbsup2
