South Shore Ma., any really good Mom and Pop donut shops?

My DH has the day off tomorrow, and thought it would be fun to take a road trip for coffee and really great donuts! He found a place in Marshfield online called "Dockside Donuts" Ever heard of that? We're up for any and all suggestions!

Head west on the pike and go to Mrs. Murphy's donuts in Southwick. Near Westfield just west of Springfield. Great foliage. Great donuts. They were written up once in Yankee Magazine.

Bingo! Sounds like another winner! Well it turns out we have to wait for the weekend to try these out, I forgot that we had parent conferences today. But how fun, donut hunting on Saturday! Thanks everyone, and maybe lots of other people can have some fun too after reading this!

We were down there a few weeks ago for dinner and saw that, but it closes early on a Sat night? Weird, lots of folks walking around too. Had the BEST fried scallops on the water there at that take out place, wow were they good.

So freakin' good that my 88 year old great aunt wanted to send me back for more lemon cupcakes! DD, that normally doesn't eat icing or anything sweet, scoffed down at least 2 over the weekend. She would have had more if I let her.

I bought 18 and took them to my cousin's house in Westport. Everybody loved them!! In fact, they are better than Magnolia's bakery which is a fancy schmancy bakery here in NYC (made famous by the Sex in the City show). In fact, Magnolia's stink compared to Cupcake Charlies. Next summer, I will probably drive out of my way to get more cupcakes for my aunt. She made my cousin promise to go get her some one day. Seriously, this lady wanted to road trip for them.
