Anybody from South Jersey out there? What airport shuttle service have you used and would you recommend them? The only one that I know of is Rapid Rover. We used some other service about 5 years ago, but I don't remember the name. :confused3

Thanks.

You should take the NJ Transit Atlantic City Line to Philidelphia 30th street, then connect with SEPTA Green Line Airport Express. I think its around $6 per person, which would be a ton cheaper then a van....Just a thought

Thanks, but the train would be a hassle. Normally we drive and park at one of the car dealers by the airport and that works out great. This year DD is bringing a friend and my brother is coming with us. So with 3 adults and 3 kids (9,8,5) all of the suitcases and stroller all of the other crap that we bring we don't have a car that can fit all of us. That's why we're looking for an airport shuttle.

Rapid Rover is the only one I'm aware of from your area. Plus, I just did a quick and dirty Google, and Rapid Rover was all that I could find there. Sorry.

I agree that the trains were a neat suggestion but not the way you want to go. Personally, I just hate taking luggage on those things. I did it a few times when I lived in a Cleveland suburb, and I was traveling alone, not even with kids, and I didn't have to change trains. An option, but not my idea of a good time.

Totally agree, with kids is a totally different story. I would love to have the kind of rapid trans that you have in NJ here!!

We have used Rapid Rover in the past to get to the airport. My DH sometimes uses Boston Coach but that costs about $100 each way (business travel-work pays). Last year we called several limo companies for quotes and most of them were at least $85 each way plus tolls and tip.
Now we drive to the airport and park at the Kinney lot. You can get coupons for $9/day with all taxes. My DH drops me and the DDs at the terminal and then parks the car. Depending upon how long you will be gone, it might be cheaper to park two cars at the lot then to use a car service.

We used Family Limousine in Westmont they were very reasonable. We also used RR last trip.

There are a few deals at the hotels near the PHL airport that you can stay one night and park for a week free with free shuttle to and from the airport. This would allow you to get an early start the night before on vacation, and some include a breakfast for free. May save you money all around.

Yep, most of the time, it works out to be around the same price as just parking, but you get a hotel and the breakfast along with the parking! Great thing to look into if you have a morning departure...

We looked into that. The rate were getting was $150 and that was for parking for one car. With a group of 6 of us going, we don't have a car that can get us all there. So if we were to go in two cars that would tack on another $50. Rapid Rover's rates are $75 each way. So I would choose Rapid Rover. :teeth:

With 6 people it might end up being cheaper to hire a limo than RR???

Or... are there any rent-a-car places near you? I know Nat'l & I think Hertz have small places near me... Maybe rent a minivan local & drop off at PHL??? Do the same for your return? Just a thought.

Thats another good idea. Your looking at $150 plus tip for the shuttle service. If your diligent about searching, you might be able to find 1 way van rentals for around $45 each way....Just another idea

We've used James Limo in Cherry Hill (800) 332-1644 twice now. (only when we travel with another couple to split the cost with!) It's about $115 each way but the door to door service can't be beat. The 1st time we surprised the kids and they were just floored when it pulled up in front of our house! Even my thrifty dh says it's worth the extra $40 to not have to deal with the economy parking lot and bus ride to the terminal. I guess it depends on how many days of parking you'd have to pay for, esp. for 2 cars. Also, not that you'd have to worry about it now but in the past I've had my car completely plowed in with snow in the economy lot so in the winter I never leave my car at the airport. They can remove the front passenger seat for additional luggage too. I've never used Rapid Rover so I can't comment on their service. Good luck! :wave2:

We're from the Cinnaminson/Moorestown area. Our next door neighbors always use:

http://www.pacificovalet.com/

They rave about this service, so we're going to try it in October. You drive YOUR car to Pacifico in the Automall, then they drive you (in your car) to the airport & take your car back to Pacifico. When you get back to PHL after your trip, you just call them and they come to get you in your car. You just have to drive the driver back to Pacifico. The cost is very reasonable.

We live in Westampton, which is by Mt. Holly so we're about 15 minutes north of Moorestown. We have used Pacifico in the past and they are great. The reason that we are not using them for this trip is that we have too many people going and we don't have one car that can fit us all. The cost of an airport shuttle or limo will be less than parking 2 cars at pacifico.

If you like the one way rental idea the Nat'l/Alamo I was talking about is on Rte. 70 @ Barclay Shopping ctr in Cherry Hill. You could jump on 295 near you (I'm guessing Rt 38 in Mt. Laurel??) & get off at 70 West - only 1 exit up right? I think there is also an Avis? in what used to be the Sheraton on 70 at 295.

Hey neighbor (I'm from where you're from :) ), we've used Pacifico Valet 3-4 times and we really like them. It's very convenient not to have to unload kids and luggage more than once (like you would at the places where you park then take their shuttle to the gate). Pacifico usually has a 10% off coupon on their website.
