I haven't bought spring/summer clothes for myself in a long time. We're leaving in 3 weeks, and I would like to get some new clothes to wear on the cruise and, of course, when we come back. Not only have I not bought clothes in a while, we only recently moved to New Jersey. Are there any South Jersey ladies here who can direct me to a good store. I want to go where the sales ladies are helpful and will give me advice. I don't have much in the way of fashion sense.

Well, where in South Jersey are you? Most of the malls have spring/summer clothing out in the stores. I know there is a GREAT mall in Cherry Hill, and if you want to drive a bit, the best mall in the area ia probably about 60 minutes away in King of Prussia, PA. Definately worty a drive if you really want one stop stopping.

If you live near Marlton ,N.J. try The Promenade At Sagemore. They have Ann Taylor , Chico's,jJill, just to name a few.You can also try one of the malls Macy's, Boscov's,Strawbridges or Lord and Taylor Deparment Stores.Have fun shopping!!! :flower:

There are tons of great malls in the SJersey area. If you're near Cherry Hill/Moorestown/Mt. Laurel, then I suggest either the Cherry Hill Mall or Moorestown Mall. Both have great anchor stores. Also, like a previous poster said, the Sagemore stores (off of route 73) and wonderful.

Also, if you're looking for dresses, there's Jan's Boutique on route 73, located in Marlton. They have beautiful dresses (very upscale!).

I found Ann Taylor loft to be great for nice but more casual clothes. I know there is one in the Deptford mall and probably Cherry Hill also. The prices are pretty reasonable.

I agree with the other posters, Cherry Hill Mall, Moorestown, The Promanade in Marlton. Kohl's has nice summer things out right now. Good luck shopping and enjoy your trip!!!

Where in S. Jersey are you?

I'm not sure where you are (and I'm not really in South Jersey), but if there's a Boscov in your area, try them. I just bought a bunch of things for my vacation in May and my cruises in November (along with one or two things to wear to the office). Their prices are good and their quality is too!

Also, in the Cherry Hill Mall look for H&M. Their stores have really lower cost items that look a little different than the regular department stores. I love H&M for all of us - you can buy gorgeous girls dresses for around $9, including matching hats, socks, etc. I've washed and worn their clothes and they do hold up. Also, don't forget Old Navy. Excellent cruise clothes - lots of khaki and comfort clothes that are a good bang for your buck. Have fun!

We went on the cruise last year and I found some great dresses at Ross. It is in the East Gate plaza behind the Moorestown Mall. I bought a floor lenght dress(gown) there for $40.00 and it was being sold at Boscov's and Strawbridges for $120.00.!! Have a wonderful time!!

It sounds like Marlton/Cherry Hill is the place to go. I'm near Glasboro. The shopping down here is okay, and I'm sure there are good stores but I don't know where they are. The Promenade sounds lovely!

it is nice to see some may dismembers in my home area!! i usually choose the cherry mall myself - but i agree that king of prussia is the best place to shop!!!

Hi Monica,
You are practically my neighbor! I am not sure what styles you are looking for but you have many options. I find many things at Old Navy and Ann Taylor loft (the salepeople are wonderful) in Deptford while my mother shops at Kohls in Mantua or Washington Township. The Deptford mall which is the closest to you also has Macys, Strawbridges, JCPenneys and Sears. David's Bridals in Deptford also has some beautiful formal items for very reasonable prices. If you are looking for clothing more upscale then The Promenade is a great option and will only take about 25 minutes to get to. If you really want to save you should take the 1.5 hr trip to Lancaster. You will find many casual to upscale outlets where the clothing is a fraction of the price. It is definitely worth the trip, we go several times of year and make a girls day out of it.

Wow, there are alot of Dis ladies from S.Jersey! There was a post a while back on the Community Boards asking people to post if they were from our area....there were TONS of people from Philly/S.Jersey!

I bet there are more than you can imagine. We are DVC members and last time we were down we saw a map of the US that showed number of DVC members per state. I was amazed to see that NJ was 2nd only to Florida!

Kohl's has great affordable summer clothes. I was able to get really nice formal gowns on clearance (after NY) and I get new summer clothes to take with me every year when it hits clearance at the end of the season. That way I have new clothes to pack after wearing out my summer clothes that season. I'm in Washington Township and we go on the Nov. NJ week cruise each year. The only problem I found is that many of us from NJ shop at Kohl's and tended to have packed the same clothes.

If you're in Glassboro you oughta consider taking the short drive to Christiana Mall in Delaware. Nice stores and NO SALES TAX! I know NJ has no sales tax on clothes, but if you're in a mall are you really going to limit yourself to clothing? We recently moved to Delaware, having grown up in Burlington County NJ and we are loving it.

I still haven't made it to the mall or the Promenade, but definitely tomorrow. ::yes:: Friday did not turn out the way it was supposed to. :( Dh's parents were kind enough to take the kids on Friday, but by the time I finished getting the car fixed, picked up the things the kids needed and got something to eat, there wasn't much time to shop for me. Oh, well. It wasn't meant to be.

Thanks for the advice, ladies!

Shelly, we are definitely neighbors. LOL.

Editted: A sign from God that I'm supposed to finally get new clothes. My husband has an outpatient procedure early tomorrow morning, so I called my dad to ask if the kids could come Sunday night and stay over so I can drive dh and be there for him at the hospital and recovering at home. Not only does he want them for a visit, he wants them as early as possible on Sunday! He lives a few miles from King of Prussia! :bounce:
