I'm happy to report that the second surgery went well and now we wait. They did not take all the tumor out for fear of damaging her speech and mobility, but will attach that later with radiation. Two big hurdles of surgery are over. Thank God!

I really appreciate all the support and prayers from my DIS family. Though Jana is not actually part of my family, she is as much a sister and friend to me as a co-worker for the last 18 years. I will let her know how supportive you all have been!
Now this weekend I hope to visit her and start PACKING!!!
I've decided I'm going to buy her a beret from Paris and maybe even Mickey ears!!!

I have NOT packed ONE thing!!! Can you believe it? I do have a sort of list, but all I've done is set some jeans aside so I don't wear them between now and when we leave. So sad!

YAY for 3 days!!

So excited! Yet I've not gotten started packing!

UPDATE: Went to see Jana last night at the hospital and she's doing GREAT! I can't believe it! She seems like she's not having much side effects from 2 brain surgeries in one week! I got to be there while they removed her HUGE bandage wrap around her head. She was so excited to be rid of that. Further good news - they may not even do radiation! Just watch and check with another MRI in 3 months! She may even go home early this week! Her surgeon was impressed with how well she's doing! I'm so relieved and happy and thankful!

Of course, with that good news, my DH tells me there's some bad news. We are expecting a snow storm this week. Guess when? Tuesday into Wednesday!!!! It better be done and clear for us to leave Wednesday afternoon!!! It freaked him out enough to look for travel insurance! He's been stalking the weather channel!
I'm pretty sure weather is excluded and we'd just have to wait for another flight, which sucks, because we have to change in Philly. If we don't make that flight, we could be stuck for another day! I don't think they fly from Philly to London every couple hours! Well, I'm now shifting my prayers for the weather to pass either quickly or north of here so it doesn't impact our flight.
But I crossed a couple things off of my to do list. Got the dog's food for his stay at Grandma's house. Got one more memory card, just in case! Got my traveling purse - I borrowed one from my friend for WDW and really liked it, so I'm borrowing it again. Have virtually all the toiletries we need to bring. One OTC antihistamine to get (just in case).
Need to call DL Paris and book excursions. Keep forgetting about the 7 hour time difference!! Should do that before I go to work tomorrow, or I suppose it could wait. DH is off tomorrow, so he could do it. I better type up a schedule and list for him to know what days to book what!
Just have to hand over the cookie manager duties tomorrow night and PACK! Will need to wrap up a couple things at work monday and Tuesday and that's that!

I will keep my fingers crossed that you have OK weather and make it to Philly on time. And for what its worth, Philly has the worst on time record of almost every major airport so chances are good that your connecting flight will leave late.

I didn't mean to freak you out by telling you I hadn't packed. Would it make you feel better to know that I have a list for carry on and have started piling up some clothes? Honestly, this is not like me. Usually I have the luggage out and start at least 3 or 4 days prior!

Yeah - I was so happy for Jana - I selfishly wanted to see her before I left, but I have to say, it was so wonderful to see that she's so positive and she considers herself so fortunate and blessed. Believe me, I thought I was doing something good for her, but I think I was the beneficiary last night. Being around her is good for me!

It was just amazing! It's so hard to believe that she only found out about this tumor a few weeks ago. She is a very strong, faithful woman who deserves every blessing she gets! I'm one of her biggest fans if you can't tell!

Hi Brook! Glad you made it! I am concerned about the snow, but all year they've been calling for a storm and then it misses us. This would be the one that nails us of course!

Yeah, we pretty much never get snow days, I think we've had one since Sarah started school (6 years ago!), but this one can wait until next week please and thank you!
I guess it would be okay if it hits Tuesday as long as the planes are flying on time on Wednesday afternoon! Not that I'm selfish or anything!

So, I really am going to start packing tonight. We are charging all the electronics, packing up the camera equipment and memory cards (DH is doing that today). Progress is being made! I've got my jeans picked out and set aside. We think we know what shoes we're all bringing (except me - I can't decide on a second pair!), jackets are set.
