We are coming to Florida in 2 weeks time and have a chance to leave the kids with my Mum for one night at the hotel - don't fancy any of the family orientated dinner shows but doing something we can't do as a family.

Has anyone out there been to Soul Fire or are there any suggestions for a good night out - we're staying South end of I-Drive and had considered Jimmy Buffets Margaretaville (purely because I love Tequila!!!!!!!)

Let me know your thoughts

Do a search for Soul Fire....the topic was covered extensively a few weeks ago. In short, yes, do it..it's a great show.

As FLeisure says DO IT!!!!:p

We went in April and we had a fantastic time! None of us wanted to leave when it was over!;)

The show is so funny and you actually become a "guest" at this wedding. It is hilarious.:D

You can get cheap tickets at Billy Boys Discount tickets on the 192 for $29.95 each which is a real savings.:)

If the search engine is working do a search on this as yes we all had a great thread about it.

Special thanks to FLeisure for telling me all about Tony 'N Tina's wedding!:)

Here's a link to Soulfire Theatre's site:

And here's Billy Boy's site too:

I would concur with the other two reports, with one small proviso. You do need to be in best audience participation mode to enjoy the show. It is no good thinking you can sit and watch - you are IN the show, and will get a lot of character interaction. And, if you get an audience who are not really sure about it, it can seem a bit forced, especially as parts of it are ad-libbed table to table (and you sometimes don't know where to look for arguments breaking out among the wedding party!). The food is pretty good and several of the cast are real stars. Go see it and make your own mind up.

First of all may a say what a great honour it is to hear from you personally - having read Brits Guide front to back, back to front then all the way through again at least 6 times in the last 12 months ... lol .... my family are absolutely sick of me quoting paragraphs of your book in the middle of their favourite TV programmes!

Good vibes about Soulfire from our good friends across the pond (many thanks guys) but do I get a slight impression from you that this type of show might be wasted on British humour? is it geared more towards the American market?

In your experience, would our one night of freedom be better spent along Citywalk or Downtown Disney or perhaps the Pirates Show (do you know if its anything like the show in Majorca (which was very good - they even had a special adults only version of an evening - so I'm told) we had to take the kids with us - but it was still very very good. What do you think?

I realise I might be making a big thing about 1 night out - but with 2 kids and very few chances of a babysitter back home we'd like to make this night a good one!!!!!

Hope you can help.

FYI of the 8 of us who went to see the show 3 were British and they still loved it!;) :D

sandshal, there is nothing in the humour to put you off (although it is very New York/Italian). However, if this is your only grown-up night out, I would definitely be more inclined to do either PI or CW, and stay out late!! At Disney, I would probably go to Cirque, followed by dinner at either HoB or Fulton's, then hit PI until 2am; if you choose Universal, I'd book dinner at the new Tchoup Chop restaurant at the Royal Pacific Resort (it is just the best restaurant in the whole of Orlando, IMHO, and a brilliant place for couples), then go on to CW for the duration (Bob Marley's, Margaritaville, CityJazz, Latin Quarter and then the groove, if you have any energy left!). Hope that helps!

(And many thanks for your kind comments, BTW).
