We have never had the DDP before and I was wondering how you use it. Is it on each of our KTTK? Do we each have to ring up our meals separately or can my DH stand in line and pay for all of our meals or does he need each of our keys. How do you keep track of how many TS, QS and snacks are off each card? Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

The credits are pool for the entire room. So only 1 card is needed to pay using the credits. The number of credits used at a single time cannot go above what's stated on the card, which will match the number (and combination) of people staying in the room. For example, if you're in a room with 2 adults and 2 children, the KTTW card would say something like "DDP 2A 2C" on it somewhere. Your DH would then only be able to buy up to 2 adult meals and 2 kids' meals per transaction. Additional meals can be bought at the same time, but they would have to be paid OOP.

As far as keeping track, I typically just use my head, but I'm solo so it makes it easy :p. In addition to this, when I forget (which happens more than I'd like to admit!) the remaining credits are also printed on the bottom of the receipt each time the DDP is used. You can also go to any guest services location and have them print out the same information. Since the credits are pooled per room, you won't have to track on a per card basis at all :).

This is NOT a stupid question! I've been wondering the same things myself. I was especially wondering about the KTTW thing and waiting in line--much easier for one adult to sit with kids while other adult gets the food.

Here's another question--if all the credits are on one card, how do they keep track of whether you're using an adult CS credit or a kid CS credit. For instance, say I wanted to order three adult sandwiches and not use any of my kidpicks credits at a CS. Can that be done? Will they just deduct whatever we use?

Is there a DDP tutorial/FAQ somewhere? It would be great to read through something--not disney published material, but something created by DIS experts!

Thanks!

They do not distinguish between adult and child for counter service. They go by the keycard you carry which says, "2 adults, 2 children". If you want to use 3 adult counter service for the adults, you will have to make 2 trips to the register. One for 2 adult meals and a second for the 1 adult meal.
However, you are not supposed to use your "adult" counter service for a "child" per Disney rules. :)

I wouldn't use adult credits for kids, but I have a feeling we're going to end up with a bunch of CS credits left over at the end of our trip! We've got TS ADRs booked for each night of our trip and a couple of TS breakfasts, but we're staying at the FW cabins and were planning to do lunch there each day. I figure we can grab something before leaving the parks and bring it back to FW with us for lunch on some days. We're going to have 40 CS credits while we're down there and we'll never use all of those! So I'm just trying not to let the CS credits go to waste. BTW, we got free dining--if we didn't I would certainly be figuring out how to use all of the credits. For now, I'll just feel guilty letting them go to waste :)

The best tip I can give you is to ask the CM if you get confused or need help. On our 1st trip, I didn't want to look like an idiot so we didn't ask questions. We ended up missing out on lots of things that were included with the DDP but weren't marked with the little symbol. At CS places, I always count the # of drinks, entrees & desserts before they swipe my card to make sure I'm not shorting anybody.

If you haveleft over CS credits, ask at your resort or any resort really, if you can exchange you credits for snacks. It's usually allowed 2 or 3 snacks for 1CS. You can stock up on some goodies for at home. That way you're not leaving anything behind.;)
