Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

As usual, you NEED a vacation! I hope it all works out! If it makes you feel any better, I had a crabby day with LOTS of pesky people being stupid today and a sinus infection! So you're not alone! Vent anytime, it's your TR thread!!

Yes, you and I always seem to share the pre-vacation drama, don't we?

CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!

Yes it always seems to go that way.

 For all the nonsense that makes every day life just that much harder.

For me - today at work I was greeted with an email

REMINDER- EMAIL MIGRATION TONIGHT :scared2:

Yup - we got some notices but I had NO idea it was tonight.

So in the end I may or may not have access to work email on the various mobile devices I have for that sort of thing.

oh well. :)

I may have to synch everything at some point.:scared:

I did send out an email that in an emergeny to call or text or send to my personal email. :crazy2:

i hope Mother's day is not a bust for you and you get some special time to relax so you can get to vacation with some sanity intact.

I have some Calgon upstairs....if I ship it tomorrow, you'll have it by Saturday. :)

I'm so sorry you are having a rotten day. I hope things get better, and I pray that Mother's Day isn't a bust for you.

Yikes - sorry for the bad day Cynthia! I was kind of crabby today too, but more because I managed to get two cats to the vet (no small feat and I have the battle scars to prove it) - max for blood work and jewel for shots and they tell me they are out of kitty prozac for kismet. GRRRRRRRRRR! How is that possible? Is every cat in Delaware taking it? Now I have to go back. :(

Any ho - frustrating coworker sounds WAY WORSE!!!!! :flower3:

Sorry mamas day is not working out either. Boo!

Pesky people being stupid. Yep, that about sums it up!

:rotfl2:

it is nice to not be alone in my crabbiness

Yes it always seems to go that way.

:scared1: didn't you have phone drama on one trip (the one before the food and wine maybe?) involving a new phone..or multiples....

UGH.

i hope Mother's day is not a bust for you and you get some special time to relax so you can get to vacation with some sanity intact.

The weekend of the 17th may be decent, we will see but this weekend is shot. Special time to relax though...isn't in the cards until Hawaii. Between soccer state cup semi's on sat, finals on sun (yep, mothers day, 9am if they win sat) or meeting the new pastor on his first day (and yes, I want to meet him...just mothers day was not the day for it in my mind) and then what was supposed to be an after church brunch that has turned into dinner at my sisters because my dad had a mid day conflict...it's just a day that isn't about me at all. Which is fine and it will make my mom happy and I am being a baby. I am just grieving over breakfast at home with JUST my kids and then a hike and a hubby cooking me whatever I want.

Burgers at my sisters with all my really LOUD nephews (who I do adore) is perfect on any other Sunday. Just not mothers day. I need to get over it. Somehow all the emails asking me what I am bringing on mothers day food wise....isn't helping :rotfl2: It will all be fine. It will likely be quite fun. It just isn't what I want for that day.

I have some Calgon upstairs....if I ship it tomorrow, you'll have it by Saturday. :)

I'm so sorry you are having a rotten day. I hope things get better, and I pray that Mother's Day isn't a bust for you.

Ah...but then I'd have to clean the tub :rotfl2:

Rotten is an overstatement. Annoying, head banging irritating and frustrating yes. Rotten, probably not. I'm being a baby. A workout helped a little, the red wine we are about to open may help more (as long as I don't look at the dishes in the sink :rotfl:)

Yikes - sorry for the bad day Cynthia! I was kind of crabby today too, but more because I managed to get two cats to the vet (no small feat and I have the battle scars to prove it) - max for blood work and jewel for shots and they tell me they are out of kitty prozac for kismet. O.M.G. two cats to the vet is EXHAUSTING. I know what a feat that is. Ugh on the kitty prozac. Do you have to split them? That is such a pain.

Any ho - frustrating coworker sounds WAY WORSE!!!!! :flower3:

We will work though it in one way or another. It may be that he isn't marketed directly to clients though. Too early to tell. I truly don't think he's had this kind of direct feedback and coaching before. For the most part he appears open but I'm not sure it's sticking and too early to measure change or adoption. Pretty hard when folks are set in their ways. He has a lot to add, it just may end up being different than originally envisioned if he can't adapt. He's a good egg but oh...is going to be high maintenance.

Sorry mamas day is not working out either. Boo!
Oh it will be ok and as I said above fine, and even fun...I'm just being stupid, selfish and a baby and need to find a way to let it go. I guess it's just one of those things where you have it in your head that the day is supposed to be about you...and it just can't always be and that's ok. I need to get my brain into focusing on it being about my mom, and not about me (though frankly ALL of this was my sisters idea so it's kind of about her...and I agreed to it...so created my own crabbiness). LOL.

Sorry to hear you had a bad day! Good thing you have a trip to look forward to, sounds like you need it!

It's good to know you have a vacation on agenda next (or pretty soon ;)) after such a day.

Cynthia, I'm sorry about all that work drama, how frustrating.

I hope Mothers Day turns out to be lovely even with all that's going on. Strange day for the new pastor meet up though.

Ahh you've hit on my disadvantage here - I have no kids! :rotfl:

Trust me - having kids doesn't make you have any better insight into their tastes. Sometimes they just pick the most unpredictable things. :upsidedow

C.
Nice pics for the F&W.
Happy Anniversary Epcot.
I am trying to see if that man being filmed was on the updated specials on TV last week. I cannot tell.

Word on the street is that IS the man. Unfortunately, I did not get to see the show. Sounds like it was interesting.

M.
Good choice you made there. Now did you hear that they are knocking down Soarin’ so it won’t be there anymore. LOL
That is sad about Tracy.
Loved the pic of HHI. I hope I can make it there one day.

:rotfl: they better NOT knock down Soarin! :rotfl:

I do wish I had gotten to see Tracy that say. Her makeup look amazing in her picture. It would have been nice to see her.

C.
That is a nice pic and can see why you liked seeing daily.
Nice way to end the trip relaxing by the pool.
Is that “On The Border” you go to in the airport?
Congrats on the BWV purchase.
Those were some nice purchases you bought. I have no guesses. LOL

All caught up again.

:cool1: Woo hoo for getting all caught up! I am thrilled for Cynthia that she was able to purchase BWV. Such a great resort!

I am sorry for your last moments. I think spending them by the pool was a great thing to do though! And... is it bad that I kinda like clowns?

I think spending the last moments of a vacation by the pool is awesome. And, no, it's not weird that you like clowns. Not weird at all.

The baggage woes suck... DME sucks... line at security... ::yes:: that too sucks. What looks like it didn't though is that margarita and gauc!!! YUM. I think I will need to know where that was.

I am obviously flying out of the wrong terminal. That does look really good.

As for the tees for the boys. I would be totally guessing. However, in looking through your pics again I have to tell you i was amazed. I guess I never realized just HOW MANY shirts there are in WDW!!!

I never realized it either. There is quite the selection for every taste. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Seriously? I thought I told you or showed you or both but lord knows it was a bit over the top, my looking.

Maybe I tuned you out after seeing so many T-shirt choices. :rotfl: Who knows? :confused3 All I know is I have totally no idea which shirts you bought, so I am enjoying the guessing game.

I have no idea and my brain is still cruising so will just wait and hope Marv doesn't get it right !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Welcome back Rosie! I hope the cruise was awesome and I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!!!

Oh I so know that feeling- VERY WELL!!!! But after drama.... Like there ever isnt any, I am officially on vacation and already beginning to get the knots out of my stomach and hair. :rotfl:

Have a great vacation Pat and say hello to Todd and Paul for me!!!! And find out if they are doing tours of the BWI. I really want to take one.

As usual, you NEED a vacation! I hope it all works out! If it makes you feel any better, I had a crabby day with LOTS of pesky people being stupid today and a sinus infection! So you're not alone! Vent anytime, it's your TR thread!!

I hate stupid people! :rotfl2: Stupid people plus a sinus infection IS a major downer.

I did send out an email that in an emergeny to call or text or send to my personal email. :crazy2:

Here's hoping you don't get a single email, phone call or text message! :flower3:

I have some Calgon upstairs....if I ship it tomorrow, you'll have it by Saturday. :)

Do you think she can hold out that long???? :rotfl2:

O.M.G. two cats to the vet is EXHAUSTING. I know what a feat that is. Ugh on the kitty prozac. Do you have to split them? That is such a pain.

One of my cages is a disaster, but I am too cheap to buy another one because I rarely use two at once. So while Max was breaking out of the good cage Jewel sunk her claws into my neck out of fear while watching Max. The Jewel had to be taped in her cage so it wouldn't open. Yeah - it was pretty comical, but I was the last appointment of the night and this wonderful tech actually carried both carriers to my car. Major brownie points there. :)

We will work though it in one way or another. It may be that he isn't marketed directly to clients though. Too early to tell. I truly don't think he's had this kind of direct feedback and coaching before. For the most part he appears open but I'm not sure it's sticking and too early to measure change or adoption. He's a good egg but oh...is going to be high maintenance.

I have worked with my share of high maintenance people so I feel your pain and you definitely have my sympathies.

Oh it will be ok and as I said above fine, and even fun...I'm just being stupid, selfish and a baby and need to find a way to let it go. I guess it's just one of those things where you have it in your head that the day is supposed to be about you...and it just can't always be and that's ok. It is hard when you agree to something and then realize it has made you miserable. I hope things work out and you end up having a wonderful day.

group hug for cynthia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I get on with m next update I have to take yet another proud mama moment to show you some pictures from Nick's prom

Thanks for letting me share. Oh - If you haven't entered the T-shirt contest please see page 130!

Now on to my Update - Viral Duckies

You already know I hated saying goodbye to Cynthia. This was our second trip together as "creepy internet strangers turned friends" . We have the DIS boards to thank for that. Most times when you say good bye to your friends you know you will see them again soon. But DIS friends come from far and wide and Cynthia and I are about as geographically displaced as possible. So saying goodbye to Cynthia meant the likelihood of seeing her anytime soon is very small. I think that's what makes saying good-bye hard. But the good news is we have our eye on a girl's trip in May 2014. Hopefully that will come to fruition. I know once I activate my AP in June I will definitely be in for a May trip!

So I went back up to the room with Cynthia as she finished her last minute packing. I will say this - she is a much more efficient packer than I could ever hope to be. So efficient that I apparently never saw the T-shirts she post. She was packed in no time and spent her final moments fighting with the online check-in at Alaska Airlines. I walked her down to the ME stop just as a bus arrived and we said our final goodbyes (or see you not real sons).

And with that, Cynthia was on her was back to MCO. He margarita and guac were waiting!

I decided I was not quite done with the pool for the day, so I transitioned myself over to my favorite quiet pool - the inn pool.

It was here that I saw the cutest thing ever.

You know how Disney is basically one big nature preserve? Well, here is living proof.

Check out these little babies and their mama

O. M. G.

They were so tiny and so adorable. These pictures can not even begin to capture how adorable they were. If teekathepony was taking these pictures you would be able to tell just how cute they were, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

They would swim all around the pool, huddling together. The babies were obviously quite young. When their swimming lesson was over mama duck led them to the wall of the pool and they all jumped out - one at a time - expect for one little straggler duckling who couldn't quite make it. He would try. Then he would sit there calling (or I guess I should say quacking) for his mother. She tried to ignore him and focus her attention on the other siblings who had made it out of the water. But he kept calling her back.

Finally mama duck was forced to bring the whole clan, one by one, back into the pool.

There they swam around again until mama duck decided it was time to try her exit strategy all over again.

Well, by now this duck family had the undivided attention of me and two other guests - an unrelated man and woman. We kept moving closer and closer to the scene. At one point the man informed me that if I touched one of the ducklings the mama would reject it for life. Really? That sounds a bit dramatic but, as badly as I wanted to give that little fella a push, I decided not to test his theory.

And as if God himself decided to reach down and lend a hand, finally each and every duck made it out of that pool. Phew. Now I could relax.

I was seriously bummed that I had left my phone in the room charging. It would have made the best youtube video. It had viral written all over it.

I went back to my book

I was literally so relaxed that I felt like I could have stayed there for hours, but I also wanted to be productive for my last night, so with the duck drama behind me, I wrapped up in my mickey towel and headed in.

Bye pool

Hmmmmm&&&This is interesting. Wonder what this guy is doing?

Once inside I decided I needed to take MORE pictures of the BWI. I think I basically took the same pictures in June. But I couldn't help it. I felt powerless to my picture OCD. So here you go….

Having a drink at this bar is STILL on my bucket list. I actually considered going up and showering and coming down here for a drink, but it just didn't seem fun by myself. So back on the bucket list it goes!

I was intrigued by this whole wall of pay phones. I hope they stay there forever. Who cares if no one uses pay phones anymore.

I love that picture. Yes please.

A view from the balcony

I guess I felt it was necessary to take a picture of this print

And the carousel, because I probably only have 10 pictures of this. Of course I need one more!

Somethings missing over here. Where's Todd? Where's Paul? A quick look around revealed they were no where to be found. Interesting!

When I went back up to the 5th floor I must have decided I needed another picture of the view - this one from near the elevator. After all, 24 hours from now I would be touching down in Philadelphia. My time was quickly coming to an end.

All buffed and puffed and ready to head out for the evening

Fun with photo bucket. I look like I have one heck of a sunburn.

So where to you might ask…..

Well first I made a quick stop here

Christine mentioned that she had bought some wine and she wasn't sure how she was going to get it home. Mary Ellen to the rescue! I had a cardboard wine carrier and bubble wrap with me. Plus I still had a pretty full bottle of Castillo rum that I didn't want to take home. Since C needed a way to pack her wine AND she had an owner's locker, I walked to the BC to drop off the carrier and the left over rum.

This gave me an opportunity for a photo-op

I finally finished my photoshot and put the camera away. Before you know it I ended up here

Not a bad place to be at all.

So what would the rest of the evening bring for this solo traveler? Stayed tuned for the next update and find out.

And a Happy's Mothers Day to all the moms and moms to be in the crowd!!!!!!

Love the prom pics! Isn't it funny how our kids can go from being our babies to all grown up looking about the time they have those prom pictures taken?

Such a sad moment to have Cynthia leave.....

Ducklings are super cute!

The BW is amazing! I love all the pictures you got. I want to stay there some time... really really bad.

Love all your pictures!!! :thumbsup2

Lovely update. Ducks were super cute!!!

As far as the tees, I have no clue. Not even a good guess. :lmao:

Happy Mother's Day! (And what sweet prom pictures. :goodvibes)

A good Mother's Day to you, also.

Love those lobby shots & I want that carrousel. The decor there is very special.

The mother duck won't abandon her ducklings if a human touches it, the same goes for other bird species & animals.

I will be spending my weekend doing a hearth cooking demo. Wish me luck, I always worry something wont turn out, but it usually does.

Your son looked very handsome, his date's dress was very nice. I like the sheer skirt over the sequins. They do wear dresses pretty low cut these days! LOL

Nice prom pics! Were they getting tired of posing for you? Nick must have warned her how you like to take pictures! I love how you have the back of her dress and hair.

I love all the pictures of the BW and BC areas!
Funny about the duck family and you watching with others. I've heard that about animals too, but I guess it's not always the case.

Hope you all have a nice Mother's Day!!

Mary Ellen: What a handsome couple for prom! Thank you for sharing those photos!!

I was totally rooting for the little duckie. ::yes:: How adorable.

The BW resort is so beautiful. Love your photo tour of not only BW but BC and the Crescent Lake area! It is just so scenic.

You looked lovely for your evening out and about. :thumbsup2

Cynthia: You look way too happy to be leaving WDW! ;)

Sorry about the knuckle-head co-worker and the associated stress.

Wishing you both a Happy Mother's Day this Sunday!!!

Ahhhhh ..... a girls trip. Some day. We are still at that place where we CAN leave the kids for a couple of hours. But I just don't WANT to. DH wanted to do a wine getaway this weekend with his son and his son's wife. But we couldn't find anyone to stay with the kids. But sometime all too soon, we will be able to get away by ourselves.

I loved your son's prom photos. He has your nose and your smile. It is is fun to see families together in photos. You see so many similarities.

I am married to a man who had a family before me. Fortunately, we all have a very good relationship with his older children. My younger children adore their older brother and sister and I believe they in turn adore their younger siblings. When we all get together, it is fun to see all of the genetic similarities they have. My son, stepson and husband all have this same facial expression when they eat. A little wink and mouth twitch I find very endearing. It never ceases to make me smile.

His daughter and my daughter have the exact same dimples. It is so fun to watch them all together.
