Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

All caught up! So Cynthia is on board, you've made your home at the WL and have no idea how to make a homemade Turtle Crawl. :rotfl2:.

That just about sums it up. And - BTW - if you ever DO find a recipe for the Turtle Crawl - please send it our way! :rolleyes1

Great pictures of the VWL lobby and MK Halloween decorations.

Thanks and thanks. I love the halloween decorations at the MK. I think I might like Main Street Halloween better than Main Street Christmas. Is that bad?

You passed up a 0-minute wait for the Tea Party?? :rolleyes1 Kind of like how I treat Journey Into Imagination.

:lmao: Don't let Stringbean hear you say that? :rolleyes1

It IS a post wishing you a

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Thanks Karin! Trying to read the DIS from my work computer is SO lame. The worst part is - I am actually off today but I brought my son in to do some service hours for school. So I'm off from work AND pictureless! :faint:

Fell a little behind due to the holidays and such, but I'm all caught up now. The biggest downfall to being in an accessible room is the lack of storage space in the bathroom, but the idea of moving the table was genius. You barely ever use the table in the living room as is.

Yay! Morning run pictures. You know those are my favorites. :goodvibes

The Dumbo photos are great, love all the water shots.

And I've been to MK twice when the fall decorations are up, and yet I have never noticed the themed pumpkin carvings. Those are really cool! ::yes::

Love the update! I knew that there were great pathways around WL, but last year I wasn't running and so when dh took the kids for a walk on the path (where they too came close to a deer) I took a rare nap. (I never nap in Disney) Now I am feeling like I really should have been out on that path running. oh well... another trip.

The lobby of both the villas and the lodge is amazing! Christmas is breathtaking.

The new dumbo certainly is cute. I love the water under it!

Great update, MEK.

Love the pictures as you took your morning run (and I'm with you....I'm useless without my morning coffee! :surfweb:)

So glad that you guys got to do Dumbo; yes, it's still short as it always has been, but it is a must-do for us every trip or a certain hubby of mine would get very upset.

You got some great pictures of the detail on the dueling Dumbos.

Once again, I love all the Wilderness pictures! And I love the little glimpses of the Contemporary in there too. :goodvibes

Isn't Storybook Circus awesome? I didn't even see the completed product, but it was beautiful even when it wasn't finished! I took too many Dumbo pictures too, it's fine.

But now it was time to begin our first full day of Disney World. I knew I would get up before Cynthia, being on East Coast time and all that, so I had prepared the coffee the night before. I did not want to be knocking stuff around in the dark while trying to make the coffee. Both Cynthia and I love our morning coffee and I am pretty much useless until I drink it.

So I quickly consumed my coffee and got dressed to go for a run. There are some Disney resorts that are great for running and WL is one of them. I love the path along Bay Lake and I love running over to Fort Wilderness. Fueled with Starbucks caffeine, I didn't waste anytime hitting that path. I took a few pics along the way, none of which came out that well.

As you may remember I really debated about getting up with you and hitting the gym and decided I'd play it by ear given the time difference. If memory serves I did awake, lazed a little and then got some coffee and got ready while you were gone so the shower would be free when you got back. I think I also had one of the yogurts we'd ordered but am not positive.

Dumbo turned out to be a walk-on!

So what did I think of the new Dumbo?

Well, it's short.

With it being so new I was surprised it was a walk on and equally so how short it was. I did feel like we didn't get to see and enjoy the new queue at all, but on the flip side really liked the fact that we were able to just walk on as we didn't have a ton of time that morning before our meet.

It was cute, darn cute, but I'm not sure I have a burning desire to go on it again.

I may get an update up today if I am killing a lot of time at the hospital but I'm mildly annoyed with photobucket so it may or may not happen. As you probably know they are changing the look/feel UI (User interface) on the site. There is a lot I love about the new look. What I don't love is that right now in beta it won't let me reorganize my photo's by date the way I want and for some reason today, even though I'd long gone back to the "old" style, it isn't letting me go back and therefore not reorganize my pictures. It's doable as it is as they are all up there but annoying nonetheless.

I really didn't notice that until this year and this is my third year visiting during Halloween. :rotfl: It took me until the second year to notice the pumpkins above the fire station. So observant, I am.
Well - now I don't feel so bad since it was only my first time!

I think you may have just hit on something. :rotfl: You were probably smirking to yourself while that part of the movie was playing. :rotfl:
Yeah, I was wondering that while the girls were saying - "this part is weird and long and kinda boring" Of course, they wouldn't understand my thoughts on it, so I waited to talk to DH when he got home.

Hey - I just noticed your HHI is only 2 months away. I guess that means mine is a little over 3!
Yippee! I really should start thinking about that trip now! I did manage to rent a vehicle for the trip. Well, I should say, DH rented a vehicle! I didn't even know about it until he'd booked it. I am going back to your TR and reading and making lists this time!

Aren't the fall decorations awesome. I just love them. I think Halloween is such a festive time to visit. I hope you get to see them!
I never liked Halloween all that much until I had kids. Now I tolerate it. But at WDW, that's another story! I really enjoyed the festive decorations and the party! I wish I could go every October and every February (March is more likely but I hate the crowds during Spring Break! - trouble is no school break in Feb.)

Loved the update!!

You can never have too many photos!! A walk on Dumbo - that is pretty exciting! The WL is so pretty, and the trail looks nice and relaxing too. If I was a runner, I'd check it out sometime :rotfl:

I want to wish you a Happy New Year!!!

Looks like a beautiful morning run route! The villas' lobby is really nice, you're making me want to visit in person some time. I really enjoyed the new Dumbo, I think they made it really beautiful and I love that there are two now so the line goes faster. :thumbsup2 Love your pictures of it!

Happy New Year, Mary Ellen! Nice update - I love all the pics of the lodge. It looks so cozy. Nice start in MK. Sorry to hear that Dumbo is shorter now. Kids should get to really experience it, especially with two of them running.:(

Karin - I am home and can see this now and its is awesome! I didn't know it was complete with fireworks! Love it!

Fell a little behind due to the holidays and such, but I'm all caught up now. The biggest downfall to being in an accessible room is the lack of storage space in the bathroom, but the idea of moving the table was genius. You barely ever use the table in the living room as is.

Yeah for being caught up! :thumbsup2 The table worked out great to hold our cosmetic bags. You know - a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! ;)

Yay! Morning run pictures. You know those are my favorites. :goodvibes

I know that people who run can appreciate run route pictures! The best thing about pictures is I get to stop for a sec and catch my breath. I never get to do that at home.

The Dumbo photos are great, love all the water shots.

Thanks! The fountains are pretty cool. Great addition to the theming of the ride.

And I've been to MK twice when the fall decorations are up, and yet I have never noticed the themed pumpkin carvings. Those are really cool! ::yes::

I'm glad I'm not the only person who didn't notice them right away. Perhaps there are more now?

Love the update! I knew that there were great pathways around WL, but last year I wasn't running and so when dh took the kids for a walk on the path (where they too came close to a deer) I took a rare nap. (I never nap in Disney) Now I am feeling like I really should have been out on that path running. oh well... another trip.

See - there really IS always a reason for another trip. The paths are really neat, especially in the cooler weather.

The lobby of both the villas and the lodge is amazing! Christmas is breathtaking.

I love Christmas at the WL. I have visited, but I have never stayed there during Christmas and it must be so festive. It's got to be the perfect Christmas resort.

The new dumbo certainly is cute. I love the water under it!

It really is a cute ride and I agree that the water fountains are so festive. It's a great touch.

Great update, MEK.

Love the pictures as you took your morning run (and I'm with you....I'm useless without my morning coffee! :surfweb:)

Thanks Kathy! Glad you like my run pictures. Regarding the coffee: Thank goodness that Cynthia loves coffee as much as I do. A roomie who doesn't drink coffee would not understand that addiction. :rotfl:

So glad that you guys got to do Dumbo; yes, it's still short as it always has been, but it is a must-do for us every trip or a certain hubby of mine would get very upset.

You got some great pictures of the detail on the dueling Dumbos.

I didn't know Mark was a die hard dumbo fan! That's so cute. And the details on the new dumbo are really a great addition.

Thanks! I hope you and your family have an awesome New Years!

Once again, I love all the Wilderness pictures! And I love the little glimpses of the Contemporary in there too. :goodvibes

It's really cool to see the proximity of the WL to the Contemporary. You don't realize how close they actually are until you walk that path.

Isn't Storybook Circus awesome? I didn't even see the completed product, but it was beautiful even when it wasn't finished! I took too many Dumbo pictures too, it's fine.

It is a really great addition to the park. I love it. At first I was a skeptic. I hated to see Toon Town go, but this really is a great addition.

I couldn't remember whether you went to the gym or not, but I know you talked about it. And I know you went at least one morning. But I don't blame you for lazing it up for awhile.

I forgot about the yogurts - yum!

With it being so new I was surprised it was a walk on and equally so how short it was. I did feel like we didn't get to see and enjoy the new queue at all, but on the flip side really liked the fact that we were able to just walk on as we didn't have a ton of time that morning before our meet.

I was surprised it was a walk on, too! Especially since we got there after park opening. We only had about an hour in the park, so it worked out perfectly.

It was cute, darn cute, but I'm not sure I have a burning desire to go on it again.

I know what you mean. ;)

I may get an update up today if I am killing a lot of time at the hospital but I'm mildly annoyed with photobucket so it may or may not happen. I had the same problem. It wouldn't let me convert back either and I really don't like the new format. I can't get my pictures back in order. So frustrating. I don't know why they had to change it. Makes no sense to me. :headache:

I hope you have a happy and safe New Year! I hope you have many travels in 2013 and continue to enjoy your music! pixiedust:

All caught up!
Wow, we stayed at WL years ago and never realized there were so many paths all around. Looks fun, guess we need to drive over in the summer and explore.

Your morning at MK looks fun. I just love all the different pumpkin carvings and always come home with a gazillion pics of them. :rotfl2:
Seeing your pics I cannot wait to explore the new Storybook circus. They only had part of it open last summer and we have never ridden Dumbo. One day I need to find the stamina and get in line. ;)

Thanks for all the photos of the details - I love that! :thumbsup2

Well - now I don't feel so bad since it was only my first time!

Yup - there is always someless LESS observant than you are - that would me mph! That's why I take so many pictues! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I was wondering that while the girls were saying - "this part is weird and long and kinda boring" Of course, they wouldn't understand my thoughts on it, so I waited to talk to DH when he got home.

Smart move on your part! :rotfl:

Yippee! I really should start thinking about that trip now! I did manage to rent a vehicle for the trip. Well, I should say, DH rented a vehicle! I didn't even know about it until he'd booked it. I am going back to your TR and reading and making lists this time!

So you are flying there? We are driving - 11 hours - 4 of us in one car. Oh boy. It's training for our June trip! ;)

I never liked Halloween all that much until I had kids. Now I tolerate it. But at WDW, that's another story! I really enjoyed the festive decorations and the party! I wish I could go every October and every February (March is more likely but I hate the crowds during Spring Break! - trouble is no school break in Feb.)[/COLOR]

I'm not a huge Halloween fan either, although I know some people REALLY get into it. But I agree with you, I LOVE Halloween at WDW. So much fun!

Loved the update!!

Thanks!

You can never have too many photos!! A walk on Dumbo - that is pretty exciting! The WL is so pretty, and the trail looks nice and relaxing too. If I was a runner, I'd check it out sometime :rotfl:

I'm glad you feel that way about the pictures, because I took a TON of pictures. I have one day where I took 600. :faint:

The trail between the WL for Fort Wilderness is pretty cool!

I want to wish you a Happy New Year!!!

Thanks - same to you - hope you have a wonderful year with lots of pixie dust!

Looks like a beautiful morning run route! The villas' lobby is really nice, you're making me want to visit in person some time.

If you have never visited the WL, you should. The whole resort is wonderful to explore. Consider taking the lodge tour sometime. I think its one of the best free things in Disneyworld.

I really enjoyed the new Dumbo, I think they made it really beautiful and I love that there are two now so the line goes faster. :thumbsup2 Love your pictures of it!

They did make it really beautiful and those fountains are great. So glad you like the pictures!

Wow! This is so cool, Karin (or Tom?) Love it! Happy New Year to you!:wave2:

Isn't it great? I really think its quite creative!

Happy New Year, Mary Ellen!

Thanks Tammie! Same to you. I hope 2013 is a great year for you!

The WL is really a cool place. It's so different from any of the other resorts so it really stands out.

I don't think Dumbo is actually any shorter. It just seemed really short to me because I have only ever ridden it once before - and it was short then too. :rotfl:

I hope you have a happy and safe New Year! I hope you have many travels in 2013 and continue to enjoy your music! pixiedust:

Thanks! I hope you have a magical 2013 as well. Here's hoping for lots of pixiedust:

All caught up!
Wow, we stayed at WL years ago and never realized there were so many paths all around. Looks fun, guess we need to drive over in the summer and explore.

I don't think most people know about that path that connects WL to FW, but I had read about it so I looked at the map and found it. I think its about a mile from the lodge to FW. It's a pretty path with next to no one on it.

If you have never taken the actual lodge tour, I really recommend that. It's fantastic and you learn so much about the property.

Your morning at MK looks fun. I just love all the different pumpkin carvings and always come home with a gazillion pics of them. :rotfl2:
Seeing your pics I cannot wait to explore the new Storybook circus. They only had part of it open last summer and we have never ridden Dumbo. One day I need to find the stamina and get in line. ;)

Stamina! :lmao: I hear ya! I was thinking the exact same thing in October - How does anyone wait in this line in June? I mean they have games and stuff in the tent that we didn't even see, but still?

It is a really cute area. I do recommend taking a look and I have more pictures in my next update.

Thanks for all the photos of the details - I love that! :thumbsup2

You're welcome. There will be many more to come!

Dee - that is SO cute! Love it!

I hope you and your family have an awesome 2013!

Happy New Year, Cynthia and Mary Ellen! I will be back to catch up on your adventures, but wanted to make sure I subscribed first. :goodvibes

you can never go over-board on Disney pics.
