Sorry - there seems to be lot of questions/confusion over these so hope I am not repeating another post.

Can someone confirm the following for dream annual passports:

1) Children up to age 7 have a free passport for each full paying adult? Are these valid for 12 months, up to the child's 7th birthday, or just until the 15th anniversary celebration finishes?

2) Can the Dream passports be bought at the entrance to Disney, and then used for the next 5 days or is there an exclusion period?(have read somewhere cannot be used on day 2 and 3 and don't want to turn up and find the tickets can't be used and have to buy 2 day hoppers as well).

3) Is the 10% discount valid at all eating places, including in Disney village, or is it just certain ones?

Don't know whether to buy 4 day hoppers from attractiontix or get the Dream passports when there.

Many thanks for any help and advice you can give me.

Hi,

The free AP of the same type for a child, when bought with an adult AP, is for children aged under 7. It is valid for 12 months from the date its purchased, even if the child reaches age 7 in that 12 month period.

Dream APs can be bought at the entrance to Disney, you get a temporary pass and then its changed to your full one at the AP office in the main park, the same day you buy it. Dream AP's have no black-out days, so you can use it straightaway, and for every day of the following 12 months.

The 10% discount on dining is for all Disney restaurants, including the ones in the Village.

Thanks for your quick reply Elaine. Info is a great help. Dream passports will work out cheaper than hopper tickets because of the free children and we are hoping to go back next year so that will be great.

No problem, glad to help :goodvibes .

I'm intending doing the same thing, buying a Dream Pass and getting DD's free.

When we got our dream passes in July we were given a voucher which gave us 20% off restaurants in the Village (to be used once in each restaurant).

You will also get 10% off drinks etc in the park (but not from carts) so even if you just go in for a drink dont forget to get your discount.

You also get 10% off shopping

Edit- Sorry its 20% off shopping not 10%

if you are planning buying a dream passport i would not bother to buy tickets in advance as only 1 day is refunded against your passport i would simply go to guest relations on the entrance on the far right side and buy your AP's there quoting the bogof offer for your under 7's that way you are not wasting any money...the francillian passport is the only pasport that cannot be used on day 2 and 3 after purchase the fantasy passport can be used on 335 days i think subject to certain blackout days and the dream 365 days and offers the best discounts....we also got a 20% voucher for the village to use once in each of the restaraunts between the hours of 12-6 valid until 31/12/07

We actually bought day tickets in advance from 365tickets.com that were cheaper than buying them on the gate. They weren't hopper tickets so we had to use them to enter the Disneyland Park in order to get our APs, however we were refunded the cost of the day ticket as it would have been had we purchased it on the gate (saving us a few more pounds!).

I think a couple of the restaurants are excluded from the discount, The Rainforest Cafe is one, but I could be wrong there.

Arggh, I thought I had the whole AP ticketing thing worked out, but following another poster's advice, I tried to find the page on disneylandparis.fr that outlines the free child AP offer to print it out and couldn't find anything that shows the offer is valid during the period we will be there - 4th to 7th December. Can some kind person point me in the right direction - if indeed it is applicable.

Also, kevankiki mentioned that the day ticket price was deducted in full from the AP price (even though it actually cost less via 365tickets). Is there then anything to stop someone getting the rest of the party's day tickets at a discount on their AP, and then exchanging these for APs and also getting sponsorship discount on the extra APs? Or are gate discounted day tickets marked in some way to show that they have been bought at a reduced price?

Thanks in advance
Lucy

As you suspect the tickets show that they have been bought at reduced rate :)

Can you only buy the 1 day 1 park tickets for family and friends with your AP discount or can you buy hopper passes with discount too? I intend to buy myself an AP and thus access the discounts and then buy hoppers for DH, DMIL and DS (who unfortuately is 8 so no BOGOF for us:sad2: ). I am currently looking at my options for our trip in January as DVC are apparently stopping giving you park passes when you book on points in 2008 (apparently they are going to drastically reduce the points needed per night though). So now when booking with points at DLRP we need to buy passes.

My understanding is you can only buy day passes with AP discount. We are looking into the best way to get my Mum her tickets for our Christmas trip as we have APs already.

Have you looked into getting Fantasy APs for the rest of the family it usually works out about E1 more expensive than 3 day passes and you could get sponsorship so that would be cheaper still. You would need to check the blackout days didnt apply when you were going. There is a list of these on DLRP magic site

Just checked for you and there are no blackout days for Fantasy passes in January

We recieved the new brochure through the post yesterday and there is info in about new special offer tickets:

New Discovery ticket- (1 day 2 parks) £33 fro adults before 4/4/08, £35 after that date

New celebration ticket- 4 day for price of 3- £89 adult before 4/4/08, £93 after and 5 day for price of 4 £104/£109

For both offers it says not available at gate

Thanks for all your replies. Just found out that when booking accomodation at one of the hotels using DVC points you are now obliged to purchase length of stay passes for every member of your party. Up until 2008 the passes were included but they have now significantly reduced the amount of points needed for each night at the hotel, but excluded the passes and made it obligetory (is this spealt right?) to purchase length of stay passes:mad: So my question is now this:- If I buy a length of stay pass and then whilst there upgrade to an annual pass, will they refund my four day pass on purchase of an annual pass or just one day. Any help?

From what I've read on this topic before, only a one day ticket can be refunded when upgrading to an AP. Sorry, I'm sure this is not what you'd want to hear.

Lucy

You can get a longer stay ticket refunded BUT it must be a proper ticket with the price printed on it (not one of the ones you get included as part of a package). Plus it has diminishing value therefore go straight into the park and to the passport office as early as possible on day 1 as by day 2 its worth less off an AP and so on.

That's interesting, Ruthie, thanks. It's not something I'd be doing, but it's good to know, just in case. And, glad you put me right, because I'd hate to be responsible for misinforming someone.
