I called to ask if there was a pin attached to my current reservation. He said that there was one currently attached and when I asked about the discount the price that he gave me was the same price as setting up a reservation online. Any chance I have a pin and he didn't look at it correctly?:confused3Help!!!first time to schedule and it's a suprise.

That doesn't sound right. Did he tell you what the discount was for, and how he priced out your trip?

Sometimes the PINs are not the best deal vs. another offer that might be there (like the buy 4 get 3 free), OR your PIN wasn't applied because you are not going during valid dates (like it's good for travel before Dec. 15, 2009 and you are looking at March 2010).

he said that the pin was already applied and gave me the same price as when I originally called and made my reservation. I have reservations starting June 13 (which is outside of the current 4/3 offer:sad1:) but I was checking to see if there was something else out there. Is there something else I should ask when I call back.

It sounds like you are outside the booking window for your pin. Most of the ones that are available right now end June 12. Keep trying, and know that there is never a reason to pay full price for Disney (unless you are going during MAJOR HOLIDAY weeks, like Easter/Christmas/4th July weekend).

I'm pretty sure there will be an offer out for summer, you might just have to hang on until around March before you see something. You can go ahead & book the reservation with a deposit, and when something comes out call and have the deal applied to your reservation (provided there is availability for your dates & resort).

Also please know that a TA will typically keep an eye out there for any awesome deals, and do this for you, as well as any additional trip & itinerary planning. Plus, TA's don't cost you anything because Disney pays our commission. ;) Make sure if you decide to go with one that you find someone who specializes in Disney Travel, because they are going to make sure and help you make your trip the most magical they can.

This may be a stupid question, but I have never received a pin via email or mail. Who exactly do you call to see if there is one attached to my name that I may not know about?

I just got off from a Live Chat with a CM and she said that I may
not qualify for a pin code. I don't know what makes one person
more qualified that another to get a pin.
We had to cancel this years trip because of the poor economy.
Hoping that we can go next year and can only go during the time
my DS is out of school and I'm not sure now if
I really want to go. Some people that have gotten pins go
several times a year. I don't think that's fair.

Call the regular booking number and ask the CM. If you are signed up at their website, and you check to receive information via email, that's the best way to get on their list.

Just keep an eye out for great deals to come available, and hopefully it will make your trip affordable enough for you. Often, the PINs are not the best deals that come out. You just need to be sure and compare all the choices & take the one that best fits your family's needs!

I hope you can still take you trip in 2010.

I totally didn't want to hijack this thread and I wanted to send a pm...but was told I can't b/c my post count isn't high enough?

I'm assuming from some of your posts your a TA...I'm smart huh? ;) Anyways...I've never used a TA and I was actually just wondering yesterday why on earth someone would pay a TA to plan their Disney trip...but then I read that today that I would be paying a TA??? Disney pays the TA?? Does this make my trip price more? Is is "calculated" in? I know...dumb questions but like I said I've never used a TA before for anything.

Sorry hijack over...everyone please continue...except you marcielm...you must stop here!! lol

Using a TA for your Disney trip does not make the trip cost more... the way the travel industry works is that the providers (like Disney) pay the agents to help them find customers. Basically, it's just part of the cost of the travel industry that everyone across the board kinda' pays for. Often, TA's can get really great deals by booking large blocks of rooms, like on cruise lines, and taking advantage of group rate bookings. The key is actually filling all of those rooms booked as a block, or else the agency will lose some money.

There are some agencies that are Disney Specialists (like the one I work for) that are able to block large groups of rooms at Disney, and offer them at a decent rate. However, if you set up a block of rooms for disney, you cannot take advantage of other discounts offered by Disney (like Free Dining, or some other deal). Plus the group rates vary depending on the size of the group and the time of season that you are reserving the rooms for.

I hope I answered your questions, and let me know if you have any more!
