I can book at the end of the week, but need advice on the following;
We are going during the free dining and I expect it to be busy, but should I book breakfast, we only want Kona and G.F Cafe' not any character ones?
Also we want to eat at Narcoossee's and the Californian Grill, what is the best time to request to see the fireworks?
I will thank you in advance as we are having problems with p.c and I'm not sure when it will next let me log on..:badpc:

if you know when and where you want to eat (even if its not a popular place) then i would book ADR'S :) i think free dining will fill up the restaurants quickly

hth:)

I think for the breakfasts you could chance it and not book them, like you say they are not character meals and there should be availability for those two. To maximise your chances though, I would try and get to the places early, by 8:30am they will start to fill up fast. If you get there for 7:30 when they open then this is your best chance of getting a table.

The September Park Hours and Entertainment Schedule should be released within the next few days. The timing of Wishes is likely to vary throughout September (8pm, 9pm, 10pm), so you'll need to check for the day you want to eat at California Grill/Narocoossee's. Even then, Disney has a habit of changing things, so you'll need to keep an eye on things closer to the time.

For a 9pm Wishes, I'd suggest going for a 7.30pm ADR. I'm guessing this would give you the best opportunity of getting a window seat for the fireworks. Arrive 15 minutes ahead of your ADR and tell them you're willing to wait for a window seat. Once you're seated, you can easily make your meal last until the fireworks start. Have your appetisers before ordering your entrees, if necessary. Of course, everyone wants a window seat, so I'd be inclined to go along with the attitude that it will be a bonus if you get one. You'll still be able to see the fireworks. There's a viewing platform at CG (which, frankly is not the nicest place from which to watch Wishes). At Narcoossee's you can go out onto the Verandah at the water's edge - an altogether more enjoyable experience.

Is GF Cafe affected with the GF refurb? I think that the character breakfast will now be held there. Just found this......

The Grand Floridian Resort's 1900 Park Fare will close for refurbishment Monday, July 9, 2007, through Monday, October 1, 2007, and is scheduled to reopen October 2, 2007. During this time, the Grand Floridian Cafe will become the site for both the "Supercalifragilistic Breakfast" and "Cinderella's Gala Feast." These will both be character meals, but NOT buffets (as they are at 1900 Park Fare) -- they will be pre-plated character meals.

The a la carte menu usually offered at Grand Floridian Cafe will NOT be available there during this time. Citricos (located on the second floor of the Grand Floridian), however, will expand its hours and menu to include a la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. If you want to dine at the Grand Floridian Cafe during this time, it can be ONLY for the character breakfast or character dinner -- you will NOT be able to book a reservation otherwise.

Computer says yes!!! it will let me post...:woohoo:
Phoned today to check the earliest I could book, (different calculators, different days?) expecting Thurs or Friday but she said go ahead and book now.. result.
We have:
29th Aug - Contemporary Concourse Steakhouse - arrival day
30th Aug - Teppanyaki - Japan
31st Aug - Breakfast at Yacht Club Galley... Evening Californian Grill
1st Sept - Narcoosses's
2nd Sept - Breakfast at Kona Cafe'....Evening at Boma

We originally wanted the G.F cafe for the 29th and b/fast on the31st but as previously stated it is now a character experience due to 1900 refurb, we decided what the hell, yes lets look sad two adults, no kids, character meal! but sadly wasn't meant to be...fully booked. As you can see we have more ADR's than free dining options but have decided to go with what we want and pay for the rest.
Thankyou for all your contributions on helping me understand/decide what options to choose:thumbsup2

I think it's highly likely that 1 September, being a Saturday, will have a 10pm Wishes time. What time did you make your Narcoossee's ADR?

Are they booking for Teppanyaki now? I wanted that for the 26th but when I phoned they wouldn't book yet although the refurb should have finished!

Where are you from in Kent? I'm near Maidstone

We have 8.30pm at Narcoossee's, I explained we wanted to see the Fireworks and that was what she suggested. I would try phoning again regarding the Teppenyaki as she said they had loads of space and it was finished its refurb, I probably just got lucky with a helpful cast member.
We live on Sheppey, about 25miles away, small world
