SOOZE Return of the Band Geeks! What's Next Update! p.25 10/10

We're baaaaaaaaack!! Trying to unload, do laundry, and recover from 30 hours straight!! (I just can't sleep in a car!!!)

Hope to get something started soon... but Oliver rehearsals will be hitting hard as well as the END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!! But I'll get on here as often as I can... time to upload some pictures...
:surfweb:

Great to hear you arrived home safely. I look forward to the pictures and your report.:surfweb:

Good Luck on the rest of the school year and Oliver rehearsals.

I think the crowds (or lack of) on Sunday was a direct result of the rain.
Okay, this is giving me ideas for our summer trip - rainy afternoons just might be park days! :thumbsup2
It has been the ONLY bad weather we've had all week... of COURSE, it just happened to arrive when you did!! Sorry you had such a bad day... I'd love to hear your version of the events, but I'd hate to ask you to relive bad times!:sad2:
Oh Susie, what a day, lol! We really made the best of it and had some fun, but not without battles...
My friend's son threw up in my car on the way to WDW; we spent 45 minutes at a gas station cleaning him and the car up.

When we got to EP, she needed to replace her son's ticket... and they couldn't find him in the system. When we finally got that squared away, she went to enter and realized she has a FL seasonal pass... and that was a black-out week. She had to buy another ticket so we could get to...

Lunch! Yes, by that time, it was lunch. Which was yummy. And uneventful. :yay:

Leo slipped and tore up his knees entering Nemo.

It rained buckets on us.

I-4 was at a complete stop when we went to leave. 45 minutes later, we'd made it 2 exits and pulled off to eat dinner and wait it out. Every place at Champion's Gate was packed.

Made it home an hour past Leo's bedtime, and still had to shampoo the backseat of my car.

:rotfl2: It was so bad, we really had to give it up and just laugh at it all!

Thanks! So sorry I've been AWOL lately... I'll try to explain in my update!

:eek::eek: Holy cow! I'm so glad you are the positive person you are... someone who can handle a day like that, and still be smiling! I must meet you!!

And I'm sure someday I will!

Sorry everyone! (Or ANYone who is still subscribing to this...)

I have not had a MOMENT to breathe since we've returned from Disney. Sunday was spent recovering, laundering, rehearsing, and re-organizing. This week, I've had Oliver rehearsals or Godspell rehearsals (a show I'm choreographing!!) every single night. Between those and trying to make dinner, do homework, run to ballet classes, and maybe even grade a few papers... I've been out of time!

This weekend I spent a few days in Dayton, OH, for the Winter Guard International championships. This means I had a wonderful time visiting old friends from the Winter Guard activity... but it also means I got NOTHING accomplished this weekend either!

I am FINALLY downloading the Disney pics to my computer. HOPING HOPING HOPING to get started on this next weekend, when I'll have a moment to breathe!

Thanks again! I'll be back!!!

Can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes I have been struggling to keep up these days myself!:upsidedow No explanation required!;)

Sooze:

I hope you had a great time at Disney and cannot wait to hear all the details! With that said, take your time! It is taking me forever to get things caught up since we got back from DC. Vacations are wonderful but boy life can be rough when you return!

It's time to get going! Not just on this trip report, but on the road to the Promised Land!!

The last time we drove to Disney on Spring Break, we didn't leave until Saturday... this was particularly tough on us, because we had to sit around and wait for it. No school on Friday meant many hours to pack, repack, check the DIS, recheck the DIS, unplug appliances, lower the thermostat, and check the DIS one more time!

THIS time.. we were having NONE of that waiting around nonsense. As SOON as Shaelyn and I pulled in the driveway from a full day of school, the boys were all OVER us!! "Let's go!!" "The car's packed!" "Are you ready to go yet?!" So, we barely had time to remember to lock the front door! It was time to get going!!

Total anticipation:

Unfortunately, we were dealing with rain... again. Last year, we suffered through some HORRIBLE storms. So we weren't happy to see this on our way out of the driveway:
P1050629.jpg

We pressed forward, however. Could it REALLY be as bad as last year?! GPS was telling us we'd arrive early in the morning, so we tucked that into the optimistic corner of our minds and headed out!
P1050630.jpg

Matt drove all the way to Chattanooga. It was a great stretch! The rain...

... very persistent until Nashville. Then.. clear skies all the way 'home'!

We had a smooth trip. The kids were absolutely fabulous in the car and watched movies most of the time they were awake. Of course, most of the trip, they were snoozing away!

We arrived in Central FL about 7:30 the next morning. We decided to hit up a Cracker Barrell to fill our empty, car-worn bellies. (This seems to be turning into a tradition!)

Tyson guzzling his chocolate milk:

And, the beginning of our vacation mentality... where normal rules are glazed over in favor of feel-good moments... here is Shae eating sugar out of the packet.

Finally, we strapped ourselves back into the car, and drove home!

One of our FAVORITE DVC resorts:

Now... GET THIS... it was 9 am. NINE. A. M. And our ROOM WAS READY!!!!:woohoo: Excuse me?! Seriously?!?! We were beyond happy. We were going to be able to unload the car and clean up in our own little studio before hitting the parks!! WE'RE HEEEEERRRREEEE!!

Some pictures from our villa.

Shae on the balcony. We were super excited with our view!

And a view from the entry:

You can see, we made ourselves at home very quickly! Got messy REAL fast!

Here is the kitchenette:

We were worried about being 'crammed' in a studio for a whole week. And, while it was pretty close quarters, it was not uncomfortable at all. Would we prefer a one-bedroom? uh... YEAH.... of course! But if it means we can spend more time at Disney, we'll 'suffer'!! The only issue was where to put our clothes. The dresser is NOT very big. I gave a drawer each to the kids. Then Matt had one drawer. I kept my clothes in my suitcase in the closet. Annoying, but not horrible!

We were ITCHIN' to get to Epcot. So, after cleaning up and changing, we made our first of many leisurely strolls to the International Gateway. We were just walking on air... knowing we had 8 full days ahead of us!

Coming up next... our VERY FIRST ride on Soarin' as a family!!

Hello from a fellow Hoosier! We live up in Fishers. Actually almost Noblesville and about 10 mins from the Hamilton County Fairgrounds where I hear there may have been a DIS meet or two. I am normaly a lurker and not a poster, but I have been following your pretrip report and was excited to see you updated! I love the feeling of departure day. All that excitement and anticipation. Of course actual arrival is the best! Can't wait to read more.

Great start to the tr!
I can't wait to read about your experience at the Boardwalk. We're staying there in August.

What a great start! I love that vacations mean letting go of traditional rules!! Your room is beautiful! I have never been in the Boardwalk. My SIL and I have decided to spend an afternoon on our June trip touring the Epcot resorts. I am looking forward to more!

By the way, I saw that you are signed up for the Indy meet. We (My DH, SIL, BIL and their 3 children) will be there as well.:thumbsup2
