Ok, so DH called me this morning and said he can get Feb 7-15 off from work and to BOOK a Disney trip TODAY. Where the heck do I start?? I am kinda doing this on a budget. I wanna do a park hopper for at least 3 days. Maybe stay in DTD, maybe rent a car.......whewwwwww my head is spinning....should I call a travel agent....should I book everything seperate? Could I be lucky and get some sort of last minute deal....HELP!!!!!!
We have been thinking of going, but I guess he wants to go NOW YIPPEEEE, I am excited, but now comes the hard part...decisions...decisions.

Sounds like a wonderful challenge!
What have you done so far Victoria?
Do you need to book air?

I have done NOTHING!! I came on Disboards to get some ideas :). He dumped this on me this morning after I dropped the kids off at school. So I have been sitting here at the computer since 9 am. I have to book flight, hotel...everything.

IF you need airfare, from Airfare Watchdog:
these are fares from Toronto
Orlando, $198 RT No min. stay, One-way for half RT fare (WS)
Orlando, $153 RT * No min. stay, Travel thru Dec 16, 2008 (NW)

Sidestep is a good website too.

I am always nervous to book things online...as silly as that may sound.

If you are a CAA member, you can get 10-20% off Disney Resorts.....POP Century might be about $95.

CAA has park hopper tickets too. Getting a 5 or 6 day hopper is only a few bucks more than a 4 day.

While you are looking for deals on your own.....call a TA with you requirements and see if they can get you a better deal. I find booking on my own is best......but you never know!

Take a deep breathe! ENJOY! Sandra

This is a good price for Feb:

Sun, Feb 10 $ 94.00
Mon, Feb 11 $ 94.00
Tue, Feb 12 $ 94.00
Wed, Feb 13 $ 94.00

That is a great price! So if I can get a flight and book another hotel for the remaining days...i will do it.

We had only one off site experience and that was Sheraton Vistana resort, got a super rate through Sheraton and they are like condos, HUGE w/ washers and dryers, kitchens, etc., outstanding pools

It was nice after Disney to be able to wash clothes right in our Sheraton room

If you call and join Sheraton's hotel program, I think that's what I did to get the great rate

Are you getting excited yet?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Soooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am getting more confused though....my husband keeps calling me to see if we are booked. waaaaaaaaaaaaa

LOL! HE sounds excited too! Maybe he could give you the day to sort it out? LOL. That's too funny.

Please keep us posted and we can enjoy vicariously!

Did you call 407-WDISNEY and ask what kind of a price you can get on the Magic Your Way (all inclusive) deal?? This way, you don't need a car - just shuttle to the resort, stay on-site, have all of your meals paid for (and oh what a selection you will have!) - even the taxes are covered, and you will have hopper use of the parks each and every day you are there!!

We did this 2 years ago and while I will say we ate like KINGS (or PIGS) - it was nice to have already paid for everything other than souvenirs!

How far are you from Buffalo or Detroit? We fly out of Detroit because our flights are usually around 200 each, Toronto is usually around 500plus a person.
The Magical Express is free and it was great! If you use the buses at Disney then you wouldn't need to rent a car, that saves on expenses too.
Our Travel Agent quoted us the exact same price as Disney did, if you call Disney ask if they have any codes!
Good Luck and have fun!!!:goodvibes

Yoo Hoo Victoria!

What did you decide? :confused3 Can't wait to hear your plans.:surfweb:

Does your DH have to work the 16th and 17th becuase remeber the 18th is our new Statutory holiday - Family Day!! Might allow you to add a few extra nights??

I am also north of Toronto and we always fly out of Detroit as we have found it to be less exoensive (the taxes flying out of Toronto are more than the flight!) and we really like NWA. I just checked and they have a direct flight (you're there in 2.5 hours) for $219.00 tax included! That's not bad. The buffalo flights are the same in price but there is always a stopover which I hate - becuase they are usually in Chicago which can be brutal weather to land in and it's a tricky airport to switch gates at!!

Actually, I just checked JetBlue out of Buffalo and there is a direct flight with great flying times for $214 (taxes included)!! It's flight 663 and 662 return! THat's pretty good!!

I'm not a travel agent - just playing on line and not even using any discount codes so there must be some deals out there!!

Victoria,
When you get a chance, please let us know how it all worked out for you!
