I hope it is true. That is the first movie I remember my mom taking me to. I would be there to buy it the day it came out.

Shoot! I'd pre-order at least *two* copies, mostly because I wonder if it will ever be re-released again. (And this is from someone who rarely purchases Disney videos in advance of their release date!)

I think (if this rumor/news is true), that releasing 'Song of the South' could be the biggest Disney release EVER.

I think it is a shame that it has taken Disney so long to consider releasing such a Classic. Back years ago before DVD technology I utilized Laserdiscs for good quality movies and through import purchases was able to purchase a copy of Song of the South from Japan. It had an English sound track on one channel and a Japanese soundtrack on another channel. So we have been enjoying and sharing this film with friends for years.
