Just looking for some suggestions. My son is turning 18 on July1 while we are staying at Disney. We are staying at the POR. Any ideas for something special whether it be somewhere to eat or an activity.

My son is 16 - he really likes DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney. It has all kinds of high-tech video-like games. There's a virtual builld-your-own roller coaster type thing. I've never gone. My husband, son and daughter (13) love DisneyQuest.

How about dinner at downtown disney and pleasure island? I've never been to pleasure island (my kids are still too small) but it seems very popular -- the adventurer's club and the comedy club?

The highlight of any WDW trip for my DSs 20 & 18 is dinner at ESPN (with their favorite team on) and renting the mouseboats. Also a steak dinner anywhere is always a hit!:p

My thinking was along the same lines as Nick:o

Try making a PS at the ESPN restaurant, or an equally fun themed one. Like if he likes seafood, try the restaurant in Epcot where you can watch the fish swim while eating, or if hes into something else, I am willing to bet you will find a disney restaurant with a theme to match. Then on the PS note that its his birthday and maybe have a cake brought out and sung to him. My parents did this for me for my 17th b-day at Disney and BOY did I love it! No matter how much I shyed away from the cameras of my parents taking photos with me and the cast members. :D

Also, find out if he wants to relax that day or go play in the parks. If its relaxing maybe rent a boat and let him drive it since only 18 years and older can, and that could be a nice treat for him.

Tell housekeeping, they might do something neat with the room. Its tiny stuff that can help they day go more smoothly and make it more fun!

Actually, don't try making a PS at the ESPN Club, because they don't take them. :)

However, they will take fantastic care of your son on his birthday if you let them know before you sit down.

On my daughter Natalie's 19th, we started the day with breakfast at Chef Mickey's, parasailing later in the day, the luau at the Poly and a fireworks cruise afterward on Seven Seas Lagoon. And the Poly (where we stayed), had a cake and lots of special things (balloons, etc) when we returned. Priceless.

Have Mickey call to wish happy B-day? What do you expect I am wallowing in 6 and 2 year olds!
