We returned from our trip on March 16th. Since the flight my son has been talking about the air pressure, which he calls air freshener.:lmao: The last couple of days he keeps talking about the sounds in his head and ears. I took him to the peds. yesterday and everything looked perfect. This morning he got up and said the sound was still in his ears and head. I did not mention anything to make sure he was not playing me. He is only 3 1/2 but, you never know. Anyone deal with this? TIA

Love the air freshener! lol

I'm sure it's hard with his age, but FWIW, my boss did have issues with her ears for over a month after flying. She lost a significant part of her hearing. Have you noticed anything that he can't hear that well? (Maybe the "noises" are background noise he's not hearing well enough to compute what it is? Hence "voices"?)

I believe my boss did have something visible in her ears though. She ended up on several antibiotics and finally had to have her ears suctioned (?) to get the fluid out.

My DD13 has been having some similar problems. When we flew down to WDW on 2/25 she started complaining about how ears felt "way worse than usually do after they pop". She normally gets minor ear pain while flying, but nothing like this was. Apparently it felt like someone was "jabbing thirty needles" into her ears, I gave her an advil but it didn't work. It got better after we landed, but it continued pretty badly off and on for the next week. When we flew back she didn't feel out of the ordinary, but the pain did come back a few times for the following few weeks. I had to take her to the docter a week after we arrived home anyway (different reason; sinus infection combined with food poisoning :headache:) and I asked if he could take a look at her ears. He said they seemed fine and that it's common for those symptoms to appear quite suddenly in children (meaning that they've never had severe ear trouble on planes before) and that it should be completely gone a month after it started. She hasn't had any pain in almost a week now, so she seems to be getting better.

Hope your DS feels well soon! :goodvibes
