Sometimes You Just Get Lucky

I had decided to get the Nikon 35mm 1.8 for my upcoming trip to China. I sold my 50 1.8 because I have the 50 1.2. I have been looking online for the past few weeks and you all know the success I have had. As soon as it shows up somewhere, it is gone before you get there.

Well I spoke to someone at a major place we get stuff from and was told the waiting list was over 700. So I had pretty well given up.

I get a wild hair and call my local photo shop. I ask if by some strange chance they would have one in stock. I am put on hold and I immediately come to the conclusion of course they would not. The guy comes back online and says yes they have one left. I take a deep breath and ask what the price is.... $199.95 is the answer. Can you hold it for me? I can be there in an hour! Sure was the answer!

Sometimes you just get lucky!

If anyone else is in the market for this lens, I recommend setting up a deal alert on Slick Deals. I get multiple emails a week regarding this lens, with prices varying from around $175-200 shipped. They always sell out pretty quickly, but it seems to be getting less hard to find.
