So, as you may or may not know, DBF and I are going to WDW in October this year, staying onsite (CSR) for the first time and doing the DDP.

We're looking to do something different... something we might not do with my family in tow (which they will be in 2013!)

We've looked at a number of things online and would like some firsthand experiences to help us decide! There's too much to choose from and we can't afford to do it all!

Desert Party Yum! I have such a sweet tooth!
Fireworks Cruise Something special, and hopefully share a cruise with some other DIS-ers, to cut the costs!
Keys to the Kingdom Tour Looking behind the scenes sounds so interesting, and it's not too long a tour either!
Parasailing or hiring a personal watercraft from the marina I'm not a watersports girl, but I know DBF loves that sort of thing! Pictures of parasailing does look fun though!

Can anyone help?!

We are hoping to do a Haunted Carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. Costs around $60 per person for a 25mins ride themed around sleepy hollow. I think that would be fun to do.

or there is always Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween party. Great fun an awesome parade and the fire works are amazing. oh and trick or treating is great too. This is a hard ticket event so you have to buy tickets its not included in your park entry.

Those would be my picks.

Ok so I have done 3 out of the 4 you have listed and have the other booked for June!

Dessert party was ok - for me though the price now is too high. The desserts are nice but not that memorable. Would be my last choice of the things you have listed.

Fireworks cruise - booked for June to celebrate by birthday. Very pricy and would be a nice family activity.

Keys to the Kingdom tour - was good unfortunatly does really on getting a great guide and most are. I enjoyed seeing behind the scenes and it hasn't really spoilt 'the magic' which is the only warning I would give.

Parasailing on Bay Lake - did this last year and loved it I am not a watersports girl either and did this as it was paid for by my boss however I really want to do it again! The views were amazing This would be my top recommendation

Ooh thanks for the help Elise! I'm kinda torn between the parasailing and the tour at the moment... DBF likes the idea of the jet-ski-type-things too!

We are already hoping to do MNSSHP (I'm hoping DBF will buy me tickets for my birthday in a fortnight!) and I don't really fancy doing the carriage ride It's not something thats ever really caught my eye. But thanks anyway!

I think the cruise might be saved for December 2013 with my family, now I've thought about it... There will be 12 of us, so it could be nice to end the holiday on I'm already planning the next one, before I've been on this holiday!

How about a private butler dinner at grand floridian. We did one for our anniversary and was lovely

I just looked up the keys to the kingdom tour and got really excited - right up my street. Thought DD and I could do this she was so excited but then we saw minimum age of 16 now much sadness that we cannot go for another year or so. Did a google search and apparently ID is require so not sure we can blag it as the restriction is due to security and H&S.

I think it has such a high age restriction because they don't want to ruin the magic for the "younger ones"... There is a family tour on the WDW website, which isn't quite as long and on-stage.
