For 2 years I have been bringing up the subject of a Disney Cruise to my DH. I have mentioned it probably every other month. Each time I have met with resistance. He interviewed for a job last week and said that if he gets it, we will go on the cruise. HE GOT IT!! :teeth:

So, I am already scoping itineraries and packages. I decided I was going to get a room with a porthole because I don't think I would do well without any natural light. The phone rings and I step away. When I come back, he has decided we are getting a verandah.

One of three things has happened: it is a full moon, I am in the twilight zone, or this is some sort of cruel joke. What should I do? :confused3

Start planning :cheer2: :cheer2: Before he comes to his sense :rotfl2: just joking. I'm so happy for you all. :grouphug:

  Good for YOU
Have fun planning your trip (sometimes those husbands can be very surprising, have to love them  )

I showed my husband the the Mickey pearl necklace, he said yes I could have it before asking the $. I said thanks and how great that was of him. Later he asked the price. Tooo late. It's consided mines all mine :rotfl: :cool1:

See Dreams Do Come True! :wizard: So happy for you...I'm smiling! :flower:

congrats to your hubby on his new job! Now book that trip quick before he changes his mind! :teeth:

I am thinking strawberries and champagne in your room for when you arrive!

Maybe some new and very pretty lingerie?

Put the depo down before he can back out! WOOHOO

Thats my advice too. You can change the room later if you want but get it confirmed - thats when you really start to get excited!

Congrats on the new job and happy sails!

Have you checked for pods? LOL

My DH was extremely indifferent when I booked our first cruise. The 2nd cruise he was a little more enthusiastic. When the West Coast cruises came out he couldn't wait to go. It was his idea to rebook on board for a 4 night in April.

Be prepared to go on a lot of cruises after the first one!

My husband always said he would never want to go on a cruise, especially in the Caribbean. One of his reasons; there are pirates (well, OK honey, but I have never heard of them attacking a cruise ship). Then there are the hurricanes (OK, we could go in the winter). He just didn't think he would like it (that's OK, I will just go with the kids). Then about a year ago he was watching the Travel Channel and saw a show about DCL. He kept calling me into the room, saying "hey, look at that!'; "that looks really cool!", "I guess that would be pretty fun". I think it was the idea of party ships that bothered him (casinos, etc., he hates that kind of stuff). So here I am tentativly planning our first cruise, probably for the end of 2007, and in the process have decided to become a TA (everyone has always said I should); started school last week. :flower:

Don't question it...read your post and Sinatra filled my head, "Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you..."

And, like me, ignore the cynical divorce lawyer in the form of a devil on my shoulder smirking and wondering what sort of guilt prompted the change...

Maybe he loves you and thinks you're worth it. Or at least that's my excuse for the suite I just booked on RCCL for January (DW thinks we're staying in a balcony or junior suite only, so she'll get a surprise when I open the stateroom door...)

Have a blast--and get a plexiglass wall, not a solid wall (my pet peeve against #7132).

I'm sure lycanthropy is involved somehow...

Seriously, he "got it" a long time ago. He just didn't do a song and dance about it. You know how guys are.

I think I'll book and then ask what's up. Normally these things turn out to be something like--Since we are going on the cruise that you wanted to do, can I have a new ridiculously priced piece of hardware for my computer that will be outdated in 2 months at which point I will need another upgrade? Can I, huh, can I?

Yep, just as soon as we get back from that cruise, honey.

Now that sounds like my DH. :rotfl:

Okay Okay Okay.

I get the message. If we husbands do something kind, surprising or fantastic, we are suspect. I just booked a DCL cruise for my family (DW, 3 kids) since DW has been wanting to do a cruise since the first time she heard about DCL 4-5 years ago. The expense with four kids was too much, but with the combination of the oldest going to college and some success in my business, I suprised her with a 7 day Eastern/2 room cruise. She has asked me, "Are you sure?" at least 20 times in the last two weeks since I told her. And, I have caught her looking at cruise materials at odd times.

Then, she says, "I know why you wanted two rooms instead of one category 4. You wanted some 'privacy' for the two of us beyond the curtain in the cat 4." I see why you want to go on a cruise. :love2: ;)

Wives. Always suspicious. (Sigh)

Just wait till she sees chocolates and her beverage of choice (Diet Coke) on ice in our room along with some personal gifts. Then she will be even more suspicious and certain of my ulterior motives. Now we are talking about doing a cruise for our 25th to Alaska in four years as well.

So you see, sometimes we have pure motives and are just trying to do something grand and glorious for our favorite lady.

And with that one line you most likely won over every DW on this thread... :)
