Someone trying to log in to my account ???

Hey guys,

I just got a notice from The Dis that someone tried to login to my account unsuccessfully 5 times and it gave me their IP. What do I do about this??

Yup it's happening from Simpsonville, South Carolina.

I think the only thing to do is to change your password and make it something rather difficult to guess. Sorry this happened!

I agree with Rora. Change your password immediately (if you haven't already).

A disboard account seems like an odd thing to try to hack

I guess I can say that because as I read this post, I thought about all of the times that couldn't remember my exact user name, matching password and kept trying to log in to a site (that I knew I had an account for) multiple times!! Sometimes getting locked out! I never even though about the fact that it could seem that I was trying to log into someone else's account! Yikes!

Since your user name is pretty generic, that could be the case here. I would still change my password just in case. An IP address doesn't narrow it down very much! Glad to know that DIS is on top of things though!

Someone may have a similar Username, and they typed in the username wrong. I have a difficult password, to many Upper case and lower case letters. So maybe it was just a typo, that they didn't see. If you feel threatened, change your password.
