Someone please YELL AT ME and tell me to GET OFF THE DIS BOARDS!!!

I throw a little Disney into a lot of things in my day to day life unconsciously.

I was in the pool talking to my teenage son and husband when we were at Vero. Almost 1/2 of what I was telling them was DIS BOARD Acronym talk. They were looking at me like I had horns growing out of my head. I don't even call most Disney rides by their names anymore....

I even text stuff without realizing it sometimes to my dh ..about Disney and it is all in code he says. He sits there trying to break the DIS board code.


He calls the Dis some kind of Disney CULT!!!!!

I catch myself allll the time starting to refer to DH & DS as DH & DS rather than with their real names when I am talking to other (normal / non-DIS) people! If I called my husband (Daryl) "DH" to one of the other swim Moms they would certainly have me carted off the pool deck as some looney who shouldn't be around children!!

There is absolutely no way to help you - can't help myself!!!!! I got home Thurs from OKW and I did unpack luckily because I had pretty much all clean clothes from my 1br - but I have been on the DISBoards ever since. If I didn't have to work last night, I would have just sat in my pajamas at the computer this whole time- pathetic!!!!!! I did manage a few posts from work (don't tell) - Wow I really have a problem - LOL.

Good thing the kids are out with DH or they wouldn't see the light of day - LOL.

My dh, youngest son and I went to see Toy Story finally. IT WAS SO GOOD. I can never get enough Disney. Right now I should be doing something productive and here I sit.

I NEVER check the Dis boards while we are away. I don't own a laptop. I do have a Blackberry and check email but I NEVER bother checking in to the Disboard while we are on vaca.

I'd rather be with my family while we are away then spend time informing people on this DIS board about everything that I am doing while I am doing it.

I'm guessing you're pretty young. Give it time... you'll be like us.

HA! The acronym talk gets my DH all the time. He makes fun of me constantly with the acronyms..he says its like i speak a foreign language to him. I can't help it though, these boards are so addicting. It's tough in the day to day for me to speak of Disney to others because they just don't get it. I love these boards cause they completely indulge my Disney addiction. Even when I speak to my DH about Disney, it's like i revert back to my childhood and I get soooo excited and smiley like a 5 year old!

I used to not check disboards while at WDW but now that there is a free internet... It's an addiction. But I made sure only to check it when DD is napping and DH is konked out after walking around the park all day

I don't usually take my laptop on vacation, only because my DH gives me such a hard time about checking in at work. I used to just use my Blackberry but I got rid of that because I was sooo checking in at work (via email) using that. Now, we're going to the GCV in 60 days and I told my DH I want to take my laptop this time so I can download all of my pics while I'm there. Now, should I happen to "stumble" into the DIS boards, well.......
