Hello Everyone! If you are reading this Welcome to my FIRST PTR. Or any TR for that matter. I only just discovered the DIS a few months ago while planning for this trip and I have been hoooked ever since! I would like to think I am a good writer, so I hope that I can live up to some of the other PTR's and TR's that I have spent endless hours reading!! Well, here it goes!

Our trip is THIS September 2011 to WDW and my family and I will be staying HERE:

The last (and our first) time that we were at WDW was May of 2010. We stayed at Pop and we got there on Saturday Morning and had Sun, Mon and Tues in the parks so we did MK, HS, and AK, but no Epcot. This time I have added one more day to the trip so we will have the night we get there (fri) then four full days Sat, Sun, Mon and Tues and possibly half of Wednesday. This time we did the memories vacation package with the free QS dining.


The cast of this trip is Myself: Mom

I just turned 29 on Saturday. I am a Real Estate assistant. Mommy to R who is 2 and D who is 8. I have been to Disneyland tons of time because my grandmother lives there. I love all things Disney and Mickey is especially my favorite. You couldn't count the amount of Disney shirts I own (really, I have a problem). I am an obsessive planner by nature, but my laid back husband balances me out some.

THIS is our youngest Disney Enthusiest! DS2-R

R loves all things Mickey! His room is decked out Mickey and we are planning a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party for him in September. He will turn 3 on the 28th (last day of our trip), so we get to squeeze him in for one last freebie. Yay! But we will have his party the weekend before we leave home. He is a feisty one, but also a sweetie pie and I can't even wait to take him back, he's gonna love it!!

Next up is my first baby DS8-D

D loves Disney as well but of course his favorites are Pirates of the Carribbean and Nightmare before Christmas. He also loves Bolt and secretly loves Enchanted, but he would never admit it. He's way too coooool for that! He has been to DL once when he was 3 and he STILL has tons of memories! (really, the kid can tell me what he bought and all about Fantasmic..is that what it's called there? I can't remember) Anyway, he is going into 3rd grade this year, which he is slightly excited about. He was diagnosed with ADHD at the beginning of 2nd grade, so he struggles with that alot of times. I try my hardest to be patient with him. He is super creative and he will be the actor/writer/singer/artist/magician/dancer of the family I would bet on it.

Last but not least is DH31-DAD

Dad is a Welder and right now he is working 2 jobs (what a man, I know!) and it is only temporary. This will be his 2nd time at Disneyworld and although he is not a complete Disney worshiper yet..he is getting there. He loved Disney and didn't complain once when we were there the last time (other than when we lost his license at MCO) Oooooopsss--eeeeyyy! And toted DS1 on his shoulders in every line without complaint. I don't know how he even does that because I put him up there for two mintues on my shoulders and they are on fire..lol.. He is excited this time..I know because he keeps randomly telling me how many days until the trip! Lol.

So that is it for the family (well other than four legged family!) and right now Hubby and I are the only ones Disney Dream'in cus' the best part is the KIDS HAVE NO IDEA!!

Trying Super hard for ADR at T-Rex this morning...well EVERY morning for the last two months! I wanted to take the kids there the night we arrive. I would also like to stop at Magic Kingdom..who doesn't wanna see that beautiful castle first? , but they close at 7pm that night and our flight doesn't touch down until 2:30, SO we'll see if we make it...still trying for T-Rex! I hope someone comes along!

Ok so I left off letting you know that the kids have no clue about this trip. Now my one DS2 that is 2 won't really have a grasp on what's going on so this surprise is really for D. On our last trip my DS8 knew as soon as I started to plan and he while he didn't bug me like crazy or anything..he isn't really a planner either (just like his dad), I just wanted this time to be even more exciting. After "researching" surprise methods via Youtube and reading here on the DIS hubby and I decided we wanted this trip to be a surprise. I think D may have a slight inkling but even if he does he doesn't know WHEN. So on to the Master plaaaannnsss!<<---Eegorre accent...lol. A few weeks ago we started to do Disney theme nights every Thursday, our first was Toy Story, followed by Indiana Jones (yes I know..not Disney, but DS8 said "But mom it's at Disneyworld!"), good enough for me!! This week I am planning Monsters Inc. I have about six weeks until D day so I am planning on doing the last Theme night before we leave as WDW theme night. We will get out anything we have that is Disney basically and I will make something to represent each park. I cannot wait for this one!! I plan to have the kids go on a scavenger hunt for a prize and it will be a big box, inside the box will be two luggages..Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for R and Star Wars for D. I have bought quite a few goodies to stuff in the bags and balloons will pop out (thearetically..lol) with a note attached to the end that says WE ARE GOING TO WALT DISNEY WORLD TOMORROW!!
Now of COURSE I am hoping they will have a wonderful reaciton filled with screams and squeals, but I am fully prepared for that dazed reaction as well. So there it is..my ultimate master plan! I'm so excited to go and just have time off of everything including dishes, work, doggie duty, EVERYTHING!! I am considering leaving my cell in the room everyday.. Ok maybe not that far I will leave you with some pics of our theme nights so far..thanks for reading!!

Yay! Where are you staying?? Our dates are the 23rd to the 28th. How old is your DS? See and I miss the little little age lol..the grass is always greener!

Ok so we left off after theme night last week..now onto the good stuff..SHOPPING!!! Now first off let me just tell you. We don't have a ton of money by any means. I only work 3 days a week..but I always buy things little by little. For Christmas, birthdays ect..this is the ONLY way for me..I can't afford to drop it all at once so I start WAY ahead of time. So onto some of the things I have bought for our tirp. I did buy a luggage set..and I will show you that later because it's in the basement and I'm kind of a fraidy' cat..No not of ghosts but I always run into some manner of bugs down there..like spiders, centipieds ect.. There is also of ton of stuff I need to take pics of down there..but that is for another day! Onto what I DO have pictures of! So my plan is to wear the same "theme" of shirts on each day with the family. I am not sure which shirts on which days yet but I will figure that out soon enough..We will have four full days in the parks so we have Phinneas and Ferb one day, Toy story one day, Our favorites one day, and Pirates another day. Then we will have some others for arrival day and departure day as well. Here are SOME that I have so far..Moms

My plan for this dress is to cut out felt circles to make it "Minnie"-esque and double side tape them on, then wear Minnie ears as well. What do you think? I am a plus size girl size 20ish, so I know there are some options for me for Disney costumes but I honestly get uncomfortable and don't think I look cute in anything so I just settled on this and thought it sounded fairly easy and quick. We'll see how it turns out.
Last but not least is R but he HATES costumes so I am thinking my plan for him will be a thin striped black and white shirt and shorts with jagged legs cut. Maybe when we are there I can bribe him to wear some mickey pirate ears or a bandana but I doubt it..lol
On a shopping side note I HAD to go to the DISney store today at the mall to make a return and I got the red Snow White Shirt for $10! Here's a lone shot..

Joining In! Since TRex is in DTD, you could just go and walk up, you would wait longer than if you had a resevration but still doable! For Mother's Day we waited about 30 minutes for a table around 6ish. We were just in the Orlando area, so I just wanted to let you know!

So glad you're here! You know it's funny you say that because that is what we did on our first WDW trip in May2010. We didn't even know it was there. There was not a ton of planning for that trip..lol..and we waited about a half hour. I guess I just asumed it would be crazy due to them having no reservations available and because it's going to be a Friday night. But if you were able to get a table and on Mother's Day no less, then our chances will probably be pretty good. Thanks so much!

Hello everyone. Even though it has not been long since my last update it feels like an eternity. Today is

OMGosh! That means that it's only 32 more days until our trip! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright, so now that I let you all know I am a scaredy cat and didn't want to go in the basement at night..I should let you know I braved it and went down anyway..so WHAT if it was the next day..when the SUN was up..it still counts.. and there may or may not have been someone with me..lol..and I got pics of most of the rest of what I wanted to share. So on to part 2 of pre-trip shopping that I have done in the last..emmm..probably 9 months. First is this

I have to say for me this was a splurge. The cost was only $30, but I am a coupon/price matching kind of girl (lady..no..woman?..at 29 it doesn't sound right to say girl..lol) So I probably looked at it about 16 of my weekly shopping trips before deciding..I'm just gonna get it. On all previous trips I have ever taken I have always borrowed luggage and so has my husband...D has a Star Wars luggage we got at a garage sale for $5 that he loves and R is getting this

That one was less of a splurge because now R is a ticketed passenger and he needs his own bag and also loves to drag mine around Isn't that funny how us Mom's work with things for ourselves VS. our kids? It seems I will always spend more for something that is for them, but when it comes to them I have to hymm and haaww over it forever..(and more than a few times it's too late and it's gone). Ahhhh..the joys of motherhood! So the things I will have stuffed in the new luggage for R are here

Also, some things I bought to surpise them with on the plane..

I am wondering what else I should bring for the plane ride to entertain R. I know to bring the ol' stand by's on the plane like crayons and a coloring book, suckers, a drink, and some snacks

but what else do you think? Any suggestions? I am planning to bring headphones and my I-pod nano with some cartoons but, I wish I had a laptop or I-pad so they could relax and watch..Last time we flew he wasn't as active. I would love to hear any feedback/suggestions anyone has... Thanks!!

My question for you is, have you been calling Disney for your reservations at T-Rex or have you called the place directly? From what I've been told, T-Rex only releases a few reservations to Disney. I called less than a week ago and got reservations for 11 at 6:30 on 9/11. I don't have the number handy but if you go to their website it is listed there. I have been shopping like crazy over the past year too. DH thinks I am crazy! LOL. Oh well, I need to head to bed. Tomorrow is my DS's first day of Kindergarten. I have to prepare myself now before I cry in the morning when I say goodbye to him They grow up so fast!

Thank you SO much! Because No I haven't! I had no idea I could get ADR anywhere on Disney property without calling the resvervation line or going on thier website. I called today and I have ADR for 7:45 the night we arrive!! I will be there the 9/23-10/3. Maybe we'll bump into each other! Thanks again!

Today started out as a not so great day.. This morning I got on to Air Tran's website to see what are seat assignments are and there were none assigned yet. So, I gave them a call and they let me know (which I have read on here NOW), that unless we PAY for prefferred seating (minimum $6 per seat per way) that there is a chance we will not be sitting together. Now I already planned on sitting with the kids on the way to MCO and on the way back to Michigan (I think that is the first time I have mentioned where I am from) DH will be sitting with the boys, because the aircraft is 3 seats on each side. Now I asked the woman what if we do not pay for them she said that I can get on the website and choose our seats but ONLY within 24 hours of departure. So, I plan on watching it and seeing what I can get I think..right now there is about 5 rows empty and it's 30 days out..and as long as there is one parent and one child seated together it should be fine. Now I know that they could really be terrible and seperate us, but I can't see another adult/parent not switching with me if they do this to us. I don't know..should I just suck it up and pay the fee?? I just think it's another way of the airlines to squeeze every last drop of money from ya..Anyway! Ok enough of the whining for the day! On to the good news! I got LOTS of Mickey Mail today!!!!!! Yay!!! I received my luggage tags and voucher booklet, and another envelope with my Magical Express tags and...yes theres MORE!! I also received my $25 gift card for calling to take the "phone tour" of the DVC. Yay..My day is much better NOW!! I'm so happy!!! I am still trying to decide if I should try to ship diapers to our resort of if I can fit them in the suitcases. I am planning NOT to check any bags. Since DS2 had to have a ticket this time he will have his own carry-on (although I know I will be pulling it of course), then DS8 will have one and DH and myself..so 4. Then I will bring a totebag as my personal item. That leaves 3 more possible carry on "personal" items like a backpack on my husbands back filled with diapers..so I am thinking I may just do this. I am a bit worried about trying to manuever all the bags, stroller, and car seat through the airport but we'll figure it out, I know it. Sorry for the super long update..this was supposed to be quick! Lol. Oh my gosh 30 days!! I better start doing "days" of my trip huh??

I'm not sure if anyone is still reading, but I'm still posting!! I just wanted to post a quick update with our last two theme night parties..The last two weeks we did Monsters Inc. Night and Pirates of the Carribbean Night.. So fun for all! I also took a trip to the Disneystore this weekend and got the cutest Woody "I love cowboys" T-shirt..
